@@r-test3668 That's because if many of the audience members were born in the 1990s or later, they probably and most likely didn't hear his music until way later in his afteryears of the golden age of DJaying from the 70s and 80s....So yeah, if you don't like his style that's fine, but he is an old school DJ that's still around to this very day.
When people talk about Hip Hop & it’s heroes, it‘s all about the Dre‘s , the 2Pac‘s , the Biggie‘s… I think the Hip Hop community should never forget what Kool Herc , Grandmaster Flash , Afrika Bambaata, Grandmaster Caz and so many others did for it! Give them the respect and their place in history that they deserve! They started at a time where they had nothing more than two turntables , a mixer and a mic. And look what they created!!!! Biggest respect from Germany to all the pioneers
This man should be a BILLIONAIRE!!! And the fact they took all his genius and don’t credit him like the properly should is INSANITY!!! Thank you sir for giving us such a gift and sharing you genius with the WORLD!!! 😎💪🏾
Thank you Grandmaster Flash for the inspiration. He is the one of the reasons why I became a DJ. I studied him and the way he killed the breaks. His record “The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash” is a blueprint classic on wax. Much love and respect to the legend and thank you for your contribution to Hiphop culture. Salute to Pioneer for building and taking it Deejaying to higher heights.
Thank you Grandmaster Flash for telling our history and the Story of how it was. I was there in the Bronx with all my Brothers at Throggs Neck Projects and Bronx River Projects, !00 park and Block parties all over the Bronx i would remember the Lamp post and how we use to power up the amp and all the people having a ball . It was the best time in The Bronx. I also remember, giving out flyers Big battles of groups Funky four plus one more and Spoonie Gee and all the partying, It was amazing to watch the art of DJing. and How Grandmaster Flash do his thing I remember Harlem World Ball room and Disco Fever . Thank Grandmaster Flash. Moe from BX
SEEING THIS VIDEO, SEEING & HEARING GRANDMASTER FLASH DO HIS THING ON THE TURNTABLES, PLAYING THOSE CLASSIC BREAKS, BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES & GAVE ME CHILLS, I'M 57 NOW & I ENJOY IT STILL TO THIS VERY DAY, REAL TALK!!!!!!!!
I remember learning how to spin in 1984 in Diamond Bar CA. First thing my Mentor taught me was how to LISTEN to the whole song and what to look for in it. We used to spend HOURS every other Saturday going from record shop to record shop looking for new sounds. Then spend the rest of the evening listening and playing them, sometimes to 3 or 4 in the morning. Good times, Great memories. All because of THIS MAN...right here in this video.
I went to a James Brown concert at the age of 11. Saw Sade at 40. If I were to have been here it would have made my live music experience bucket 🪣 list 🙏🏼
I remember back in the day when he threw street party jams all over Da Bronx. Long live Grandmaster Flash. The only one and the original. No one comes close. This video takes me back to the early glory days of just having fun and just grooving to his classic jamming and scratching. He did it with the old equipment which was harder than what is being used now. Technics SLB 1 series belt drive decks. But he continued to evolve into different models from my understanding. He hasn't lost his touch which is incredible.
This was literally the dopest show for hip hop ever hands down shit was a whole 8 hour shift of history ong shit was so dope to go down memory lane with all the legends and pioneers shit was a blessing to see
Shout out to grandmaster flash the seamstrer of hip-hop 🏆 Jam Master Jay would have been so happy to be at these events I thought of him during the set

As an old school B-Boy, to then become a DJ, this man influenced my life as a kid and is still an influence now. My life went in a wonderful direction because of Flash and other musical legends, in the old school days. I salute them all and thank them so much for awakening my creative side. Flash is an original, a creative genius, a man of heart and soul, a proper legend!
Man I loved this it brought back so many memories!!! We used to drive from Queens to the Bronx to listen to Flash and the Five… I was jumping out my seat grooving to the beat. Walking to the parks to hear the DJ’s and MC’c do their thing.. Like he said it was a great time, if you’ve never experienced it you missed out on the birth of hip hop…
Honorable Grand Master, Blessings 🙌 and Honor be upon you. As a 63 year old, who was raised in downtown Brooklyn, I was blessed to have had your music to enjoy for all of my life. Even better for me, was meeting you about 20 years ago at the Bay Shore Home Depot. You came in a few times with questions about windows and doors. What impressed me the most was your humble demeanor. You are truly a genuine human being. You shared a story of how you had been to visit several NY State prisons to encourage the inmates. Brother, you have touched a lot of lives in so many ways. Although your instrument was the Technics 1200 Mk. 2, your real instrument was the heart you carry inside you. May God / Allah always bless 🙌 you, in the same way that you have blessed so many others. Bismillah Rabil Alamin!!!!
🎉🎉Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to HipHop!!!! Hip Hop Encounter online Mag.Salutes All Legend Deejays and M.C's.we did that!!!Boogie down Bronx ,baby!!!! I was to raise in the era . And you know that. WORD!!
I have much respect for GMF as an old school DJ myself. He started in the 70s and I started in the mid 80s. No doubt he had major influence in the DJ culture. Some of his claims have been debated when it comes to being the creator of certain things. However, everybody has a story to tell, so he has the right to tell his. Either way you slice it, GMF deserves respect for the work he put into the DJ culture! #slaute
My big brother Joe! Taught me how to back spin on Good Times by Chic. And now my younger brother. Ali Shaheed Muhammad, is a legend because of this man! We used to have battles at my father's house and Flowers was always dropping in!
I bought Ali Shared Mohammad's 1st solo CD off Penalty Records I think . He had like 5 joints on there that I listen to back , to back to back to back. Imma Huge fan of him. Production for Mos Def & DeAngelo & Lucy Pearl PHENOMINAL
Thanks for making this video. G.M.F. is the man who changed music forever. All DJs owe G.M.F. for opening the world and minds to the mixing and scratching game, the beats, the breaks, the blends.
Truuuue we went from using paper, slim cardboards, etc to scratch like GMF using cheap turntables/stereo combo, PL L800s all the way to the epic MK2 after school and weekend garage parties. As a kid I always wanted to meet him as he was part of an era that inspired us to love music in a wild way. God bless the Grand Master and thank you for all!
Flash is a number of things to many people.. The fact he is still kicking it is fire.. Never stop doing what you enjoy and pass the knowledge down to other generations.. I still have some pioneer turntables in storage that need needles... Too bad they so expensive now or I might pull them out and show the grandkids what's up LOL Doing it ole skool with out all the cross over effects and computer and midi stuff with a push of a button... Put the work in the way it used to be.. DJ's today do not understand the limitations and creativity this man and other had to do to get what they wanted. no dj programs.. no digital anything.. like that song said two turntables and a microphone... LOL You had to change and set the next record while on the fly ..no pushing a button or loading a pre programed beat.. Be well and peace... I thank Flash for all the years of enjoyment and the history lesson he is passing down right now... Best quote ever.. "Music has no Color." Remember that people.....
My god I would’ve loved to be in the audience. This is as much a history lesson, and music history lesson, as it is about DJ’ing and the evolution of hip hop.

I like how he organically includes storytelling. This is more than a music presentation. It's an interactive history lesson!
It was a unique way of walking back the history of Hip Hop!
