It’s actually pretty funny how that shot managed to surprisingly ricochet right off the tank like it did in the movie. We all know that shell had no business doing that, but it’s almost as if dumb luck really does exist 😂
Awesome video. May I suggest that for future videos, a scoreboard of how many tanks/airplanes remaining is placed in a corner of the screen, to keep track easier of how many are left. Thanks ^^
The director knew about how the tiger 1 shouldve shot the leading tank then the last in the collumn but said in that "If he had killed the leading tank that brad pitt was in, roll credits"
I always think that they could have simply put him in another place, like even in reality I wouldn't have put the best sherman to lead the group. But maybe there is a reason.
@@FM-tw9sb well he wasnt in the front at first, the lead sherman was destroyed by a panzerfaust and then Fury had to take the lead. I dont remember but im also sure that War Daddy was in command of that tank collumn after the panzerfaust incident
The Chieftan actually commented on this scene. His explanation was that German doctrine at the time was to take action over inaction. Seeing as the Tiger had its position covered with smoke and could not longer see, it had to move to continue engaging. He also stated that if anyone made poor decisions it was the Sherman's for not splitting up and attempting to engage on multiple fronts from the very beginning. Side note, it was Tiger 1 in Fury, not a King Tiger(Tiger 2)
Thanks for your comment and interesting to know. Also the purpose of this vid was to demonstrate what would happen if Fury faced a king Tiger instead of a Tiger like the scene to see if the outcome would have been any different
You should recreate Fury, but with vehicles of different countries, like how would a couple T-34s with 76s and one 85 do or how’d a couple Cromwells do, etc
Could you do the third round again, yet with all the Shermans having to parade around the map only on roads, with the tigers waiting to ambush them at their own leisure?
urban maps will help increase the chances of the shermans because the germans are forced to brawl in close combat where the sherman cannons can be effective, if it was a field map, it would be a point and click adventure for the german tigers
It'd be cool too if it were multiple Sherman platoons entering a map with Tigers assigned to ambush them as they'd run along. Having simultaneous confrontations and probably multiple engagements throughout would produce a variety of outcomes.
The Germans will absolutely dominate because they have impenetrable frontal armour on hull and turret while Sherman’s are easy to pen and have no cover
Unfortunately, gyro stabilizers were such new state of the art technology, that the War Department had the ‘brilliant” idea of Not Training their Tank Gunners how to use them, and not issuing instructional or technical manuals with the tanks… For fear of the technology falling into Enemy hands…. So the overwhelming majority of M4 Tankers in WW2 either dismounted the gyros first chance they got, or simply never used them. The US War Department has a history of thrusting new and experimental weapons onto their soldiers, but refusing to actually train them how to use them, (M4 Gyros) Clean them (early M16s) or holding them in reserve, negating any tactical advantage they might have gained in battle. well some instructions and diagrams were included in the Tigerfibel (Tiger 1 Manual) which basically boiled down to: angling shows the enemy armour they can't penetrate. in other words, angle the tank. though as far as i know the tiger is the only tank where angling was explicitly taught, so you are right that it's not common
Tank doctrine dictates......First shot, lead tank....second shot, rear tank.....then clean up the middle. Maintain distance because of greater velocity and firing range.
Would have been nice to see the Tiger 2's perspective on the non-pen to see what kind of shell he used. He may have used HE or HEAT just to keep the tank alive and finish the reenactment. But I guess the good old "War Thunder sucks" joke was too easy to pass up. Also would have liked to see the hit camera at the very least.

Angling intentionally wasn’t really a thing in ww2 as you don’t really know where all the enemies are. For all you know you’re already angled where your periscope is facing. And then you follow commands from the commander. Not your brain meats.
The tiger didn’t angle In the film because they were using a real legitimate king tiger the last in existence and turning it was believed it would damage its treads

i think you should decide more if you want show a simulation on a open field or in a city and don't mix them up so much. There is a big difference.
