Built in 1890, Sonja had this home renovated for expansion, but kept key details such as wood flooring, staircases, and marble furnishings. Love that she kept the original moldings but there was just too much beige in the decor. You can bring more light in with mirrors and some colour accessories

I wish I could find it, but there's a video by The Corcoran Group or Brown Harris Stevens that shows how this beautiful townhouse looked before she took all the cozy charm out of it.

@@MsCNail-fe1sj If you can't get the link, look for 162 East 63rd Street. The realtor is Kristi Ambrosetti. It shows the townhouse before the renovation. Personally, I like the "before" furniture and interior design much more. It was warm and inviting, like something straight out of a Meg Ryan rom-com. Now it looks like your typical celebrity home. A pity, really.
When there were huge holes in all the rugs & unrepaired water damage from a bathroom flood ?!
I'm sure it was a lovely and it's time but it's a bit gray gardens for my taste

Let’s face it if you’re buying this place it’s as a tear down (minus the physical tearing down). But it’s a gut renovation stripping back to the bare-bones. Especially that kitchen (and the bathrooms) gotta go.
"if you could only be a fly on the wall" all you little people, she sounds like Leona Helmsley. New York has a way of making people like this i suppose. this was auctioned recently at around 4 million It's pending on zillow. if i was only a fly at this i might know the real story, any flies here that know?

"I don't want to let those (original details) go" --- translation: I do not have enough $$ to correctly fix and update this home before (again) trying to sell it, so we put lipstick on the pig & did the best we could. Now, please step over the dog shit in the garden, and ignore the water stains you see here & there on the ceilings....😅 Oh, you gotta love Sonja!

@Khu NoPie She's a gold digger who married one of JP Morgan's heirs. He cut her off when they divorced so she sells toaster oven recipes and clowns for the camera on the show RHONY lol
