@@NicolasGarcia-l5h Miura was not stretching anything for the most part, he basically did the opposite, he took long breaks because he was probably overthinking how the ending should go and didn't want to put out crap for the sake of it. We do have some slower sections, and pacing issues towards the end of Miura's work, but I guess this was because of pressure placed on him to release something during his long hiatuses. Now, about the plot criticism: Berserk literally starts with the Black Swordsman Arc and that shows how much of an asshole Guts is and how hell bent on revenge he is without all the context. The Golden Age is supposed to show Guts and his friends, make us like them and root for their friendship until they get sacrificed brutally, so we then understand Guts rage and what keeps him moving in the beginning. Berserk makes no sense without what comes after the Eclipse, that's where the story begins and intends to go, and the Eclipse is not where the story should end either, otherwise you just have a terrible ending with no closure. If you dislike thesse choices, you dislike the series, period. You have the right to do so, of course, to each their own, but maybe you shouldn't make recommendations to people regarding the series since a lot of people like it based on the very things you apparently dislike. You are greatly oversimplifying the elements of the story, any story can sound basic and dumb when reduced to it's premises. Oh, so it just becomes a revenge story? So many great stories can also be reduced to this. So many great stories can be reduced to the hero's journey template... So many fun to watch sports are just grown men running after a ball and doing something useless and arbitrary with it... Berserk as a whole is just not your thing, those characters you say add nothing to the story and that YOU don't care about all bring something out of Guts and they have their own development too. He eventually learns to depend on people again, like he did during the Golden Age, which is something hard for him because he fears everyone he loves will have the same fate. Politics section was kind of fun and good while it lasted, but it was only relevant when the Band of the Hawk was still a thing and Griffith was trying to climb the power structure as a human, Berserk was never about that specifically though
@@TheFelipe10848look, ur own comment shows how miura didnt knew in the beginning where the story would end. Also when i say stretched i mean the story clearly doesnt have content to take this long and im not even counting on the calmer parts, Im counting on it all. All those apostles for example are clearly something that was supposed only to focus in zodd ,but from nothing all those filler characters appear (the context miura gave us is soooo poor). Is very similar to what happened to star wars, there is always something to explain this or that bad decision, but in the end is very poor. About “berserk not being my thing”. Indeed when a teenager I was a fan of the whole thing, but them i started to consume more “well made” literature, movies and anime them when i got back to berserk I understood that Miuras peak was the golden age and before. Books like call of wild, junji itos uzumaki, dune , event horizon, ghost in the shell, blood meridian and even the last of us 2 show similar points but wayyy better than what miuras wrote after it , maybe he had a lack of creativity , very common in so many famous writers. So no, it is worst as book, not that just isnt my cup of tea. Also the problem is not just “complexity “ my favorite anime is samurai champloo, a very simple anime but very well made. But Berserk had very profound characters with various motivations, a complex relation between characters, characters with traumas that are very understandable and we can correlate. The characters became very simple like “ oh this one doesnt speak and protects his owner” “this girl is rich and wants to prove herself “ “ this guy wants to be like guts” “this fairy makes jokes “ i literally described the whole party in 2 lines. Also So many useless plots like that city that were being attacked by trolls. Completely forgettable. So again, berserk golden age is absurdly well made, after it went down hill. Also i can give u at least 5 better stories of pure violence that are better than what came next in berserks golden age , war hammer 40k for example . So being “too violent “ isnt the problem
I fucking love when Alex goes to his normal/singing voice randomly while growling and we get this a lot in that song. The vocals are definitely the strong point here. The moment at 4:53 is honestly the best part of the song
This song is super appropriate for Berserk. Loved the Rammstein influence in this as well. Especially from their song Mein Hertz Brentt. And yes, you should watch Berserk.

This song is definitely a complete 180 from what they’ve done in the past I think this song is a really good song. the symphonic elements where a nice touch not over used but had its place. STP needs to throw in some more songs similar to this to keep things fresh yeah they’re known for being stupid heavy but that can cause burnout for the band themselves and fans so throwing in some slower or more experimental stuff is a good idea
I have really high hopes for the next album because they are definitely going to do a lot of experimenting with their sound, but I really don't think that it's gonna top Kostolom for me, because in my humble opinion it's nearly a perfect album all around.
I think Alex is peaking... vocally. This is his best (in my opinion) yet... Love the tone of his singing voice, reminds me a lot of Travis Ryan a bit - how he blends the harsh and clean into a unique tone that is all Alex. I am down for more of this...
Really love this song, im a big berserk fan and i feel like he portrays the emotions of the anime very well with this song especially the breakdown. I definitely recommend you check it out birb.
Brand of Sacrifice REALLY loves Berserk, their name is from it, and for the most part they may as well just be to Berserk what Ice Nine Kills is to horror movies lol
Love seeing STP change things up a bit. And I’d recommend reading Berserk for sure. On the surface it comes across as just being dark and violent but it legitimately has a fantastic story and the art of the manga is very impressive. RIP to Kentaro Miura.
I agree with your take here. For me, the highlight was the breakdown. Overall, it was "OK", and seemed like they were going for a Rammstein meets In Flames vibe (but not quite achieving either part of that equation). I saw in the comments the reference to Mein Herz Brennt which I agree with, while the chorus reminded me of Touch of Red by In Flames (but in both cases, not quite on the same level). It's good they're trying out new stuff, and I hope they continue to experiment.
