I got this bike including accessories, an extra battery, and extended warranty on my Cart list on Lectric's website at about $3700. I haven't bought it yet because I'm not sure that it fits my needs. I test rode the Gazelle and the Stromer ST3 and was blown away. I considered getting the Stromer ST5 but I can't justify the over $11,000 cost not including accessories. Neither of those two allow for a front rack and neither have throttles. I'd be going long distances, sometimes over 100 miles several times in a week. I'm basically looking to replace driving a vehicle. I don't know if the larger tires on the Gazelle and Stromer make for a smoother ride. You say at 1:25-1:39 that the smaller tires on the Lectric One are good enough to handle every day commuter riding, according to research that you mentioned. Does that still hold true about frequent long distances? Still having a hard time deciding which bike to get....
@@RiderGuide interesting because I was told otherwise by a bike shop owner at the beach, a bike shop staff at another place, and a few others. The bike shop owner told me fat tires make the bike more unstable and that they originated from another state to take on the unstable off road terrain there. Others said they’re more for terrain like sand where you see them a lot near and at beaches. Fat tires also decrease range because of the weight and thickness of the tire. I’m thinking that 26-27 inch tires are ideal for long range.
I have a Citizen Miami with 20" wheels and several bikes with 29", 27.5" and 26" wheels - bigger wheels roll over obstacles more easily and a suspension seatpost, maybe a suspension stem (if you can put one on this bike) would help.
@@maryharrington8983 thanks for your input. My two most important goals are long range battery and comfort. I’m getting a bike as my primary means of transportation.
Looks like such a fun bike! My main question is, is it comfortable. Do you think it would be good for several hour rides on park trails (paved or smooth dirt)? Do the handle bars and stem adjust? Can't wait to hear more reviews once the bike is released.
You said that it would be hard to use a mid drive motor with the gearbox. But the company who makes the gear box, Pinion, also makes a gearbox/motor unit all in one. I would have loved to see them use that.
Great review, looks like they put some time into this bike, it would have been nice if you explained who the company is. Also, the price has gone up wince this review, just like everything else on planet earth 😢
I have about 50 miles now, on my Lectric ONE. I really like this e-bike, but I have one major complaint. There is no proportional control to the motor! When using the throttle lever, or when pedaling, the motor control is either at 0% or 100%. In South Florida, on flat terrain, in PAS1, I basically have to throttle, or pedal, at 9 mph. In PAS2 I basically have to throttle, or pedal, at 15 mph. In PAS2, to drive the e-bike at 13 mph, I have to pedal, then coast, then pedal some more. I think the motor control algorithm could be improved, integrating the proportional motor power up and down, based on the pedal cadence, and the current speed.
@@joshikins5674 Both of those are commuter bikes; the One specifically is designed to be more of a car replacement than anything. I would look at a mid-drive from a brand that does more in the bike space than a company like Lectric that is mostly trying to get rid of cars. Maybe the Aventon Ramblas or the Specialized Turbo Vado 4
This isn’t a review though. This is just Mitchell's first impressions video. For reviews, we fully test range, stopping distance, weight etc. It’s like living with your significant other vs a first date :-) -Paul
Freshly Charged reviewer cited as negatives the weak headlight, lack of front suspension and the auto-shift shifting weirdly at times. Obviously there is at least one review that had some bad things to say.
I like the battery location because it is easier to take it out in the hot summer and bring it into the house for charging. You can't charge the battery in the 115 degree temperatures of Arizona summers.
I own the Lectric Xpedition and it also has 20” wheels. I don’t find the wheel size a huge negative, but I do agree that 24” wheels would probably be a better size.
If you ever need a quick measurement, we hope this small ruler will help you out. Even more than that, we hope this card will show how you "measure up" using the most important standard. Read the other side to see if you meet that standard. You may not have realized it, but each of us will be “measured” by a standard when we die: the Ten Commandments. How do you "measure up?" Ever lied or stolen (regardless of the value)? Ever looked with lust, committing adultery in your heart? (see Matthew 5:28) The Bible even says that hatred is the same as murder (1 John 3:15). Ever been guilty of that? God gave us this standard to show us how far we fall short. HOWEVER, God sent his Son, Jesus to this earth. He lived a perfect life and gave himself up on a cross to pay for our sins. Then he rose from the dead! God commands you to repent and put your faith in Christ. Stop striving to “earn” heaven, and realize your total inability to meet God's standard. Trust in what Christ did to save you. Read your Bible every day and obey what you read.
Hay the battery is easy to remove and 20" wheels are great. I love it... Just want front suspension.
This on my wish list

Would recommend a fat tire bike with a big comfy seat if you plan to travel that far.

Yes and yes

I need one of these in my life.
Nice work❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!
I really like that this has electronic auto shifting. My only concern would be the weight

Did you meet up/collaborate with Freshly Charged?
Saw their video first about this bike and at the same time, this video showed up outta nowhere!
Yeah, love the guys over at freshly charged!
got the same bike Every time I tighten the seat Pole, it slides down when I sit on it.
I would love to have this bike
When riding the bike do you have to stop pedaling to shift or does it shift while pedaling?
It shifts!
Will there be a suspension version?
If we get info we will post!
If you buy a bike like this, who is gonna do major repairs in your neighborhood? Like issues with an automatic drive? Could be an issue
Local bike shop
Awesome e-bike awesome price.
It sure is!
Can you pedal it without installing the battery
What is weight limit. I'm heavy guy. Can. It pull a trailer?
Check the link in description for specs
Does the battery come off to charge?
I believe so
This vs XP 3.0 which one would YOU buy?
Both are good options! Just depends on your preference and spec needs!
I ride gravel, road and MTB. I don’t have an e bike and wanted to add one to the team.

XP 3.0, no way I’m paying 1k more for an auto transmission and a belt instead of a chain
Has it been tested and certified to UL 2849?
No
No UL!
Crazy how there’s 20 reviews about this bike and not a one bad thing to say. Must be in the NDA

If there wasn't an NDA, you would've said so

Everyone is just a bunch of simps over this e-bike
It would be nice if they came up with electric Ford up scooters
Electric scooters look doofey
Impressive.
Thanks very much

Maybe they will come up with electric fold up scooters.
Maybe
This car has lots of room to park going forward. He had to inconvenient people's time by parking going backwards. 9:41
Thanks for stopping by!
Nice bike but very very small
Compared to XP 3.0 ?
Compared to the 3.0?
Thanks for the feedback!
I guess you need fat, plushy tires for comfort?
They definitely help!
A suspension seatpost would probably help as well.
@@714mattman they have suspension seat, Post, which comes with a bigger seat I ordered that and then I ordered the seat that has the little back rest
You can buy remote turn signals also
You can ride that bike in the snow the cold and in the rain
Expensive bike without a suspension, this should have a suspension for the price.
Why though? It doesn't need it and suspension just adds weight
It needs 24" wheels. It looks like a kids bike or one of the homeless people that steel kids bikes
