I have the same noise in my 2017 mustang GT but on the driver side dealer told my it's normal u only hear it when it's hot I used cera tec I got no change I removed the valve cover did not see anything replaced the vct solenoids no change I used thicker oil 5w-30 no change no misfire or performance problems so far car has 50000miles so I don't no what's wrong with it.
No it's gone. I used an oil additive that could power up lubricant and after 2280miles the tick/nock is gone and the engine is very quiet cold and hot. U add 2oz per 1 qt thats mean half a qt every oil change. I put 7.5qts and half a qt of the additive and check the oil level every Sunday because I lose 1/2 a qt it goes to my oil catch can it's normal if u have any questions let me know good luck.
I had the same sound then I found out was transmission oil cooler lines clamp was broken and causing ticking sound I even got lifter ticking sound and gone after I used friction modifier xl-3 about 3 bottles with engine fluid .total 6qs
@@Sterlingforsythyep my truck is the exact same. Litterly same exact tap and exact spot. It’s not manifold. If it was minfold it would settle down when hot, and me bad cold.
I would invest in timing components before your timing chain starts slapping the timing cover. Mine started a few weeks ago and I've kept it parked every since. I'm going with a lot of parts from MMR (modular motorsports racing) just because they should last longer. Also their tensioner inversion bracket seems like a must to correct fords lazy engineering. If I have to beat it to get to work on-time it should stop loosening the chains as fast. Plus I'll get a bit more power out of it.
Mine is 2015 with identical sound. This isn’t the so called “coyote tick” I haven’t found out exactly what it is yet but I believe it’s louder because of exhaust manifold leak. Haven’t done them yet. how's it running and how many miles right now? I have the same exact ticking on my 2017 mustang with 67k miles. I think this tick is actually different from the typical coyote bbq tick, I took mine to a shop and the said its possibly a lifter or something at the top of the engine, but no way to tell without tearing into it. Did the tick ever go away from the moly????
Same noise on my 2011. Ceratec did absolutely nothing. Mines quiet as a mouse 6 months of the year. But once it gets warm out, the tick comes back.
