    I have 600 Man Utd shirts and maybe 100 national team shirts. Some of the shirts need to be repaired. However, everyone on Twitter wants to do it as a business and never wanted to share any tips of repairing a shirt. I live in Hawaii, it’s too far to send my shirts to them for repairing. The shipping cost alone will be more than the shirt itself. I tried a lot of things and only figured out some of them, and finally you opened this channel and shared valuable tips on Twitter. You are a treasure. Appreciated.

      Thank you for your message, it's exactly ones like this that make it all worth it.
      We believe that, as with all skills - if people want to learn - there should be a means and way of being able to do so. Whilst we do offer our our services, we would MUCH rather people watched our videos and learned how to do it themselves - the feeling of empowerment and achievement is immense!
      If you have any questions - feel free to ask us 🤙

    Great video as always. After watching it multiple times for diverse issues with various shirts, I finally watched it for the purpose of patching up holes. Could you maybe elaborate on washing instructions after the repair work is done? I hope to wear the shirt regularly again. Can I ever machine wash the shirt again or are hand washes inevitable from now on?

      Thanks for watching mate, glad it was useful!
      In terms of washing, I'd always recommend a warm, delicate wash - without conditioner or even hand washing. Depending on the adhesive used for mends, it should be fine - but at least if it comes off - you know how to fix it again

    Great video, thanks. What use is the lightbox? Is it a worthwhile investment? And also, what was the scraper tool you were using?

      Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it!
      Well, the lightbox (which is a light pad with a Pyrex glass tray upside down and on top of it) is perfect to be able to see where the letter is on the other side of the fabric so you know where to apply the solvent. Make sense?

      The tool is something that I custom made as there was nothing else that did the job. I sell them for £13 Inc UK postage for a pair. Would you like a set?

    Have you ever tried to remove a nameset from a Nike jersey (2005-2006)? They used this woven like weird material... I tried to take one off a PSG jersey from that season with VLR, and it totally messed up the fabric. The white part turned blue and red, and the other colors bled too. I just wanted to get rid of the old name, but now there's this giant stain and no way to cover it.
    Trying to find a matching metallic gray vinyl would be almost impossible, plus it would need two layers. Now I'm scared to even take the numbers off to put on a whole new repro nameset, because I feel like I'd just ruin the whole back of the jersey.

      Sounds familiar mate. We have a video that shows you how to use VLR the best (important not to use alot and to let it evaporated slightly).
      You can send me some pics and I'll have a look if you like?

    Hi mate love all these videos. Wish I’d seen them a few years ago before I half ruined a 30 year old shirt trying to get a name set off with a hair dryer and tweezers!

      Ah mate - I wished you had too!! Does said shirt still need work done on it now? Or you managed to fix it?

    I’ve got acrylic paint spots on a shirt what’s the best way to get them off please?

    • @wefixkits
      @wefixkits  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would use acetone on a cotton pad and then rinse with warm water and fairy liquid

  • @wrighty7769
    @wrighty7769 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I’ve got a shirt that was previously framed and has some hot glue blobs on it that I assume were put on when framing. Do you think alcohol would work on those or best not to risk trying?

    • @wefixkits
      @wefixkits  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My gut feel is that both acetone or pure alcohol should do the trick. Go carefully though and whichever you use, use it sparingly and prob apply with a cotton bud. Let me know how you get on!! 🙏
