what about patches?
Depends on the patch, would either be same process as vinyl or flock - depending on patch material
@@wefixkits sooo for example a champions league patch
@@thedudeivany4631 yes, I would use VLR for this. If you're careful you will be able to reuse the patch afterwards. Watch our video on reattaching sponsors to see how. 🤙🤙
Don't forget to tell people vlr will cause bleeding between multi coloured shirts. Maybe that's why you did it on a letter that didn't cross two stripes . This stuff will ruin your shirts if not used right.
It's a good point, it can cause colour bleed on some dyed shirts (I've had it on Newcastle shirts). It's pretty rare if used carefully though. VLR can be both your best friend and a nightmare 🤣
What’s the best way to store football tops? I’ve got a few that I’ve had folded in my draw but have noticed the vinyl sponsor sticking and showing against other tops.
I’d prefer not to hang them as my plan is to just store them.
Is there a method to do that that won’t create the sponsor from sticking when folded?
Have you tried folding acid-free tissue paper into them? It stops the vinyl sticking
@@wefixkitsthanks for the suggestion. I’ll definitely look into buying some of that.
great video btw! I find vlr can sometimes leave a water-mark type halo on some shirts, any tips for preventing and then cleaning these types of marks off after vinyl removal?
Thanks mate - appreciate it. The mark you mention, I refer to as "smear" marks in my videos. My advice is:-
1. Get shirt as clean as possible before hand - ideally Napisan soak
2. Use VLR sparingly i.e. with cotton pads rather than pouring directly on
3. If you have them, you need another solvent I.e. VLR or alcohol - to dissolve them, but they will only remain dissolved while the solvent is still a liquid. You need to put the shirt either straight in the wash (once you can see the marks have gone) or in to soak.
Make sense?
@@wefixkits thanks a lot for this advice, stocked up on some napisan ahead of a weekend of soaking 👍
Thanks for this,, have large vlr stain and was wondering how I can fix!@@wefixkits
@@TomHarris12 hey mate - FYI we have done a video on how to remove smear marks, check it out. Also we have found a wonder product that removes it - we will do a video on this in due course
Ive watched your vid, great stuff as usual. Also bought the wonder product and some swarfega ready to go for when your video is out!
Hi ya, Where do I get the VLR from please mate?
Hi there - thanks for your message. There is a link in the video description for all the items in the video
@wefixkits ok mate no worries, I will have a look.
I've searched all over and this is the best process tutorial for this! Thank you!
Ah mate - that's very kind of you to say so! I searched too when I started out, and there is very little. Some methods are closely guarded but I prefer to share the love as it's such a great hobby to do. Let us know if you would like us to cover anything specific in future videos.
