Very naughty Stagecoach driver going through on a yellow light, where it looks like he had plenty time to stop, near the Atholl Arms

There used to be regular double decker's on this route in the 80s/Mid 90s though spotted one on the day of the air show in Ayr.going to Glasgow.

Prestwick Airport used to handle a bit more passenger traffic.
But I think now it only really handles Ryanair flights.
I think it's used for a lot of cargo and freight planes bringing goods into Scotland.

I would love to drive one of these.way way better than a normal e200 but most passengers don't even realise the difference
It sounds beautiful ❤ even the door air unlock hiss sounds more professional 😂

Another route I used to drive a lot. When I was in Kilmarnock, they still has the B10M's then they replaced them witth E300 MAN engined buses. Nice long route to drive.

Do drivers actually do the complete route? Or just between Kilmarnock - Glasgow or Kilmarnock- Ayr.

@@EurasiaTransportExplorer When they first introduced the the E300's they were all fitted with TachoGraphs because they thought that the drivers would need to use them as the route fell into European driving rules. What we did was Change at Kilmarnock and either go to Ayr then to Glasgow and back to Kilmarnock, with a break in Glasgow if I can recall. They also changed the destination to get round the rules. So we had Ayr to Kilmarnock for Glasgow and vice versa. At least that is what I can remember anyway. this was back in 2009 so my memory might be a little sketchy 😂

Hello. I was lucky enough to be a driver based from killie depot for a few years. I was driving the 4 a lot for two and a half years of that, possibly my favourite of all the routes I drove. This was mainly down to the bus, I loved driving those Scanias. Slow off the mark, but great brakes, lovely steering and a great noise.
Anyway, on a running board, a driver would start at killie and drive to either Glasgow or Ayr, then back to Killie. Then they’d go on to do the other half of the journey and back to killie. Took about 4 and a half hours or so. So yes, you do get one driver doing the whole route! I recall one shift I done, where I done two full 4 runs. Loved that day 😂

It's easy to forget just how vast Glasgow actually is, it's by far the biggest city in Scotland, although Edinburgh is growing faster than London in recent years.
But this route let's you see just how big a city Glasgow is, when after half an hour and not really a whole lot of holdups we still aren't in to the countryside and the open roads yet.

That is clever town planning having bus stops at the traffic lights most other ukn cities should take note
