I don't know how anyone could find the HK USP ugly. It's iconic and super sexy.

The HK-USP-45 is my favorite carry gun. I am, and will always be, a 1911 fan and I still have Colt's Government Models in my EDC rotation. All in .45ACP. I carry +P in the Governments and Super in my USPs. My muscle memory works as well with one as the other. My USP 45s are more difficult to shoot well, but once I learned how, it made me a better all around handgun shooter. I can consistently hit a 10" steel plate at 70 yards with either weapon and I never did that before learning how to shoot my USPs. I carry both weapons cocked and locked and I have yet to de-cock my USP when thumbing the safety during the draw. In my opinion, being concerned with doing that under duress is overthinking it.
Excellent video BTW. I look forward to more of your offerings.

I have a 95' that I bought brand new in 2000. I have mine converted to V9. Which is no decocker. Just replace the safety plate to a 5+6. You can manually lower the hammer and fire double first shot, but no decocking function. I did that to keep from decocking it during firing.

Very nice video presentation on one of my favorite firearms! I know the USP series may be considered ‘outdated’ by some, but to me they are simply timeless, functional, reliable, and ultra-trustworthy! Thank you sir! 👍

I have the P30 V1 LEM trigger. I love the grips on it.
I'm looking into the USP Elite in 45.
Not sold on it yet. The HK45 looks amazing also. I can't decide yet. 😂

I just started my HK collection with a P30L Light LEM, and after firing the USP .45 & HK45 side by side - it’s the USP - hands down. The recoil was the deciding factor, and that’s what won the pistol showdown. And that is my suggestion - go and compare them side be side, and pick the one that suits you 😬

Thanks for sharing your experience with the HK USP through this great vid! I own six HK DA/SA pistols and love every one of them. I recently picked up a new full-size in .40 S&W and the build quality is impeccable. They truly are legendary firearms.

I owned a full size in 40 and a compact in 9mm and foolishly sold both. Two guns I wish I would have never even considered selling. I'm finished with that selling game though, any guns I buy now will be passed down to my kids!

You can buy the HK 5-6 detent plate & convert it to straight cocked & locked (with no chance of decocking under stress) if you are so inclined. It’s an easy swap.
Starting in 2003 I took some firearms classes over the years, the instructor being former British SF. He said the same thing that you did about accidental decocking under stress.

@@conspicuouslyinconspicuous427 - I want the 3-4 detent plate, that will make my HK45 compact & USP .40 compact a decocker only! I'm okay with decocking, just might wanna get rid of the manual safety on the compact carry guns. Thanks for your input, sir!

@@PoeOutdoors Yeah man! Only buy, never sell. I only buy new guns (I know that not everyone will choose to do that). I just don't like the potential that a used gun might have hurt someone, or that if I sell a gun, that my gun will hurt someone else. If I use it to protect someone, then that's something that was a necessity. Another person using my gun with ill will isn't an option. FOR ME. You do you.

Great gun! I let one get away when I was a young pup, still need to get another and hold on to it, I have the 9mm, and edc HK usp compact 9mm most day (hence the name Jack Bauer) but once I get my PX4 storm compact it will have a run for it’s money. But the HK USP 45 is on my bucket list, should be in funds next year.

Great video, well done! There is just something about the USP series that makes it unique, and it goes well beyond the features. By the way, I sent you an Instagram message as I couldn't find your email. I have a compensator discussion video on my channel and I would like to get one to you for testing and review. I will share my email info if you reply to the message.

You need to talk about the ink on your right arm there, looks awesome!
I have five HK's and three are USP's, one P30SK LEM and one VP9 optics ready w/long slid kit added later and never had one FTF or FTE on any of them.
If you ever get a chance to get/shoot a 45 Tactical jump on it just for the match trigger, and adjustable sights, and threaded barrel.
HK stands for Hammers are King! and are worth every penny.

Thi i as much polymer gun that any one SHOULD be paying for IMHO. It ha so many positives and till ha not yet become 'expensive for a platic gunÈ. The ogirinal reason why we bought plastic guns was for the lightness and the affordablity. AOnce they pas sthe $10000 mark i think it becomes pointless....or even modding the guns beyond $10000...might as well go buy a 1911 a it is THE platform the others aspire to coming close to e.g. the triggers...but never can.
Itès nice to have a gun like the USP 45 thatès been so teted, put through the ringer...even for Joe Range-ony.....maybe for home defense a well....itès also at a price point hwere youèd be more likely to use it defensively vs a $30000-PLUS 'custom' 1911...omething too many 'gun nerds, donèt think about.....would you not CrINGE when you put your first ding or deep scratch into your custom $60000 1911É Whaat if that happen in the middle of your FIRST real world gunfightÉÉ ..making you freeze at the wrong time....leaving you open...
...which mankes me LOL when i hear gun nerd making YT videos tell uss they carry their $6-0000 cutom ....REALLYÉÉ :)) Who brings a boutique gun into what might be a 'life death battle'ÉÉ :))) Rolex tooÉÉ
