- I was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station New River when I got the orders to serve on the U.S.S. Saipan for a NATO exercise to Norway. I was a 2111 small arms repair/technician in support of our helicopter squadron out of North Carolina. What an exciting trip that was. Semper Fi!
I was in the USS Saipan LHA-2 1984-1987 I worked in aviation supply. Those were the good ole days! Anyone remember me? Jeff McDonald
I served on the Saipan in 1984 for Teamwork 84 as a US Marine. We made stops in London and Belgium from what I recall.
I was on the USS NASSAU LHA-4 in 1987 for a Med cruise. E 2/10
I was on in 1985- Med Cruise '85. 3/10 Marines.
Thanks for watching. I hope my photos brought back some great memories for you. Semper Fi!
So was I with 2/8!
I was on the Saipan in 1985 for a Med cruise!
Great photographs and music, well done. Do you have any that show the location of the steam horn or of the horn itself? I have the actual steam horn from the Saipan from when it was removed around 2000 and replaced with an electric air horn. I would love to see a photo of it mounted to the ship. Thanks, Jeff in Ohio.
