    Within minutes of playing, I was in love with Joshua Bell Violin. Embertone has raised the bar for solo virtual instruments for Kontakt as this library delivers authentically realistic performances instantly yet has extensive controls for deep programming and sonic sculpting.
    Joshua Bell Violin sells for $199 from Embertone: bit.ly/2xkvslp

    I bought this a couple of days back. Best plugin I’ve bought in ages. Every composer should have this in my opinion 😊

    I don't have a great ear but this really sounds good. Makes me wish I was a real composer. Especially of classical music. Oh well, back to the drum machine & Casio keyboard.

      just do ettt?? download some Kontakt instruments and have a blast, if you know chords then its real easy, its always just super slow chords to make that kind of atmospheric scoring music, its surprisingly easy when you have some good instruments at the ready

    I've not got this yet, but the minute I need a solo violin for something, this is the one I'm getting. In fact, when I make compositions, I usually just make them with piano sounds as it's a good way to gauge the harmonic balance when it's all a single instrument, but I've been thinking about replacing melody lines with this for a more interesting sound.

      Look up Emotional Violin too. I use Emotional Violin a little not than Joshua Bell Violin because the Emotional Violin's tone suits more epic music. I would use Joshua Bell's violin for more film music and classical music rather than epic stuff, so choose what suits you.

    Wow, it sounds just like The Red Violin (a movie in which Joshua Bell performs the violin dub). Thank you

    I bought this library when it got release and it's amazing!!! ... Best solo Violin sample library and it does sound like a real violin (Not like a programmed sample violin!).

      Hi there, so far I am using VirHarmonic’s Bohemian Violin for some of my solo passages. Any chance you know that library and would share your thoughts on how they compare, since they seem in the same price range? This one looks excellent, but I do especially love the playability of Virhamonic’s library. When I have more time for tweaking dynamics, I use the usual stuff from 8Dio, Spitfire, and such, so playability is of primary interest to me. Good sound is not all that rare these day, after all, but good sound fast without hours of tweaking, much rarer.

      Hi Falke Music, It seem to me that both libraries sound very good, I wouldn’t say one is better or that they complement, I think it’s like having two great violins to play with!!!

    great review as always, Don. Hope they update for Komplete Kontrol compatability with all those keyswitches!

      Hey thanks Mat. I didn't realive there was an issue with NKS compatibility? can you elaborate for others reading the comments? Thanks

    • @mcgdavidson
      @mcgdavidson 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      it might be my misunderstanding, I don't own the instrument (yet!) but I couldn't find any ref to its compatability on their product page as well as their demo vid showing a komplete kontrol keyboard with all blue lights. However I now notice you guys & other review sites referencing NKS so I'm probably wrong, though I have also since seen someone on a forum mentioning problems loading it in the Komplete Kontrol plugin. Sorry, an unsatisfying reply, but I do plan on buying it so will update when I've had a chance to try it.

      Apologies if my previous comment misled anyone, I can confirm it works fine in Komplete Kontrol, lovely lit up keyswitches and all. And of course the instrument sounds gorgeous!

    Question. Is this still worth 200$ now in 2024?? New to the string scene, and there should be something better at this point, or.. perhaps it doesnt get better?!

    Has anybody tried this and also Kontakts Stradivari Violin? I already have Stradivari wondering if it's worth it to get this as well?

    hello! when I open Joshua Bell it loads all the presets up to 8gbs, and this ends up making my pc slower, how do I get it to just 1.50GB as it shows on your pc?
    I have already tried the "purge" option, but I still do not know how to get that result. If I do not press reload, the sample will only load as I play, and if I press reload, it reloads up to 8GB.

    • @SampleLibraryReviews
      @SampleLibraryReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm that seems strange if purge isn't working properly. Sorry to hear that. Try contacting Embertone support - they are usually quick to get back to you.

    It sounds almost too real. Tone wise. I find it quite grating on the ears actually.
