Fishes of Cobourg (Sept-early Oct)

Fall-run fishes and juveniles in Cobourg Creek (Ontario) from Sept-early Oct 2021. Steelhead, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Brown Trout, and Atlantic Salmon adults, plus juveniles hiding all over the place.

At around 3:53, the salmon being chased away looks like a pink? Thx for sharing the awesome footage, especially the Atlantic!

Pretty sure it was just a smaller male imitating a female, they can get that stripe when they do that. Good eye though!

No, they were in other areas of the creek.

That's from fishing line steelhead tend to roll alot when they first hit the bait most likely rolled tangled herself in the fishing and couldnt shaken it free and bled out it's a shame not many of those fall running steelhead left

That first fish is a resident rainbow trout and they’re extremely uncommon to be found in water where the salmon are running

Even in the fall the steelhead can get very colourful. It's unlikely to be resident.
