  • I swear I'm good at Fortnite...
    But also, what is going on with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?!
    Let me know in the comments below if you're getting thermal throttling on your most used or favorite pc handhelds. Really interested to know.
    Hope the video isn't too long, I was having fun.
    Thanks for watching!

    Sorry if the screen is hard to see at some times, was recording in hdr and it didn’t translate well kinda blew the contrast out on the screen.
    Thankfully I talk enough you don’t even need to watch it to get the info 😅

    I think your device would benefit greatly with a PTM7950 repaste. My 6800U Win Max 2's fans aren't that loud and I'm able to go up to 30+ W TDP (after repasting with PTM7950) without thermal throttling

      No doubt it certainly could.
      My philosophy though is, if the average consumer wouldn’t do it or figure it out I’m not gonna do it. The company should make a good product that doesn’t require regular people to do maintenance on their own device just to get it to perform “optimally”
      Also I’m moving on to the steam deck OLED after this video and selling this device. 😃

      @@ancientflames If you're planning on playing the games you demonstrated in this vid on the Steam Deck, prepare for disappointment. Also, you haven't even tested the Win Max 2 with an eGPU which imo is a huge selling point (that oculink port has made me move away from my gaming desktop entirely). You don't get that option with the Steam Deck that already has an inferior chip.

      @@FS-zt6tm I'm not. I make content on the devices and their capabilities; the content isn't for me.
      There are also no official gpd oculink cables or the G1 enclosures available in my country, but I've seen it will preform close to a 3060ti/3070 desktop though in terms of performance. Pretty cool, but not $700+ cool to me. I don't think the content for that would be very interesting at least personally.

    I’d like to see you try to test out some keyboard focused games with and added mouse. For instance, would it be possible to play Dota or League on a keyboard that small?

      So far I’ve done overwatch no issues but I don’t use a lot of key-binds or anything.

    Devices like these you need to open and customize.
    I know is not a good customer experiêncie, but theses devices are not common or know enough to the masses.
    You see by the price you buy a good notebook with a 14 core inte 13700h and a 4060 even maybe a 4070.
    But, i travel with a motorcycle and i hate to have big stuff on my pack. A 1kg notebook with controlls on them are better than any notebook out there. I was looking at the flow x13, is a very good one but still, dont have built in controllers and is 300grams heavier, also is bigger.
    This is actualy the most portable do it all notebook available right now.

      I don’t think any device no matter how niche should HAVE to have anything done to it to function correctly. It should just work, and then if you wanna mess with it further you can.
      I understand though it’s an enthusiast device and people who buy it are more likely to know how and want to open it.
      Sounds like it’s awesome for you, and yeah I’ve look at the x13 as well. I dont really need or want to game when I travel though so I’d rather have the battery life of a MacBook than the gaming power of a laptop with a dedicated gpu.
      It is a very fun device though. Just probably doesn’t make sense for most people to consider. 😃

      Yeah I read a lot of people having issues with it so I decided against getting it. I think GPD has a new bios on their site you need to install.

    Is your space bar broken?

      No, why do you ask?

      @tessellationarts2971 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ancientflamesbecause that is a common issue with this model. Space bar is poorly balanced (esp when you press it by the right most edge)

    • @ancientflames
      @ancientflames  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tessellationarts2971 ah yeah, I already fixed that. Super easy, but yes I did experience that issue. Just popping it off and placing a little bit of tap or something under there fixes it.

    brandnew AAA games, not what these devices are for really,

    • @ancientflames
      @ancientflames  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      The device is for whatever you can get it to do.
      You can play tons of brand new AAA games on it if the settings are right and it’s well optimized.
      Hogwarts legacy, AC mirage, Mortal Kombat 1, Dead space and Armored Core 6 are some I’ve tested that all run great on this device even at 15 watts.
