its not actually a token exchange its starting process of token exchange where motorman only collects a token not drop(one you can observe in the video).Bcoz its a last non-single line station for the train.After this station the train has to enter single line section where the actual process of token exchange starts means the token that motorman picks right now will be deliver to next station's station master(that station will be first station of single line section) & pick up another new token from there

Rubin Roy The operation of a bidirectional single track line has obvious problems, the most serious of which is the possibility of two trains traversing the line travelling towards each other, both drivers unaware that the other is using the line. The simplest method of controlling such a line is to have only one engine operational, on the basis that a single train cannot collide with itself, and in the absence of another engine, there is nothing else for it to collide with. Such a system is known as "one engine in steam". Such schemes were used, and indeed still are used on some branches of rail networks, and on heritage railways. The main problem with such a scheme is that it is best suited to a completely isolated branch of single track line. Where the section has to be integrated into a larger railway system, it becomes exceptionally limiting in the level of operations that it allows, and the opportunity for a mistake to be made, and an ensuing accident to occur, is high.Instead, rather than rely on a single engine, reliance is placed on having a single physical object available for the single track section and ruling that only if an engine driver is in physical possession of that object, is he permitted to enter the single line section. That object is known as a token and is marked to indicate to which single track section it belongs.

LOCO NO 40092 IS THIS A BG OR MG Train If it is BG then why this token system still exists I am train lovers since 1954 and running almost 80 years I am a daily travellers for almost 40 years and knew about 80 percent of the Indian Railways system of the PRESENT SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY AROUND Mysore Chamarajanagar and Bangalore The Token System was in Vogue till 1991 in the above areas and continued till 2007 between MYSORE AND CHAMARAJANAGAR AS The line on Bangalore side converted into BROAD GUAGE From the 7th of Sept 1992 Can any one tell me whether the Token System still exists Broad Guagetrain around AHMED A BAD And more about BG MG
