The quickness with which Mimir says “Brother! We should throw the boy in.” Makes me think Atreus really has developed a stench and it’s not just gentle ribbing. This is definitely a “Mimir-smartest-head-not-quite-alive” eureka moment.
Mimir: "you smell" Atreus: "you talk funny" Mimir: *surprised Pikachu face* Also Mimir has no right knocking Atreus since his head is always three millimeters away from a spartan blast zone. With the difference in palate between Greeks and nords, Mimir probably wishes he was back on the tree
Um... If by difference in palate you mean the copious amounts of poison, fish and other things the Vikings and Norwegians ate... We sure that Krato's farts wouldn't be a pleasant breeze in comparison?
I like how kratos took the diplomatic approach 😂 he could have easily said “yes” as would be his very blunt nature but nah he’s like..yeah but it’s..tolerable
And on top of that, you can't really experience the side quest dialogue with both. Like, you have the sidequest where both companions might be interesting. You have the second Hafgufa quest, where both Freya and Atreus have story appropriate dialogue, because that sidequest has to do with the Hafgufa giving their lives for their children to live. Atreus takes the perspective of the children and is upset at the idea of their parents dying for their kids. Freya, obviously, sympathizes with the parents in the idea of giving up everything for their kids. Another sidequest might be in the Crater in Vanaheim where we learn about the giant frozen lightning there. Atreus is appropriate since it's about his mom fighting Thor, and Freya is appropriate since it's related to Thor causing a catastrophe in her home realm (not sure though, haven't played this one with Freya). And some sidequests are narratively better with certain companions over others, like Kratos being nicer to his wolves is obviously best appropriate with Atreus.
@@Penguinmanereikel They did actually made a great job in doing that so whoever companion you're with, the player won't feel like it's inappropriate for a certain dialogue/sidequest
For Mimir to make a comment about your body odor when his face is next to the spartan cheek, you must be smelling so awful. I guess Kratos is a spartan and Spartans are known to be very hygienic.
At first I thought it was about Atreus not taking a bath after all the journeys,. Turns out.... well to be fair I went through that too about a decade ago
- Talk Scottish - Mention Lady Nymph, the one who gave Calibur in the test of "Which one of these swords is yours?" - Mentions that he betrayed Titania and Oberion in the trauna fog - Knows about Kelpie from "Back in my homeland" - The Norn called him Puck - Talked about MacBeth
Mimir is, apparently, literally from the Celtic Mythology. He says that Kelpies come from his homeland, and Kelpies are from Scottish folklore. Like, I knew he doubles as Puck from Celtic mythology, but I didn't think that _his origin_ was from Celtic mythology. You know what that means: next game, Kratos is gonna be killing King Oberon, and is probably gonna bang Titania.
Mimir: “Don’t even think about screwing Titania; she’s actually a lesbian!” (Possibly debatable.) Kratos: “I would never _dream_ of it. Now focus; we must find Atreus & Angrboda.” Speaking of whomst… Angrboda: “Uh, Loki? Where the fuck are we? Pretty much summed up in a quote from God of War Ragnarok: Kratos: You cannot sail away from your mistakes. It is impossible to forget them. I have tried Mimir: Aye, they’ll follow you wherever you go. Kratos: If you are to sail, do it _toward_ somewhere.

I agree, it makes no sense for mirror to have that accent, but it does for Mimir as he comments on his homeland (that being Scotland) a few times throughout the game.
"Father!" Atreus sounds so betrayed and almost whining there. A true "my parent said something to embarrass me" tone
At least Angrboda wasn't there...right?

It only seems that when it starts. Like transforming into an entirely different creature.
