The actual definition of an element in lp space is the earlier one which I used in the holder's inequality, u can use that definition here also, Actually I used this definition to explain one thing -like if x , y are the element of lp then x+y is also the element of lp using minkowski inequality and then I forget to mention it (may be it was not required here). So don't get confused use the earlier definition.
