National Quilting Circle is my go to. I’m also a brand new quilter who is an intermediate to advanced crocheter. You’re adorable. Hope you make your current goal of 500 subscribers real soon. It’s gone up by 8 since I found you last evening.❤
I have just gotten my third mrs quilty box. I am a pretty advanced quilter, and not really interested in making what they have patterns for. But this month I was missing all the extra goodies... boo hoo. I am an experienced quilter, and run a prayer quilt ministry at my church. When I make binders of quilt patterns by beginner, intermediate, and advanced quilt patterns, I do NOT put anything cut on the bias/ triangles in a beginners binder, because things on the bias stretch and need extra care, and some extra instruction.
This is why I started this channel. I hoped to help others who are starting as well as get advice because I am still fairly new. Thank you for watching. I have been getting a crash course on triangles with the Mrs. Quilty patterns.
G'day Carrie! Just came across your channel and love your personality. I enjoyed watching the unboxing as i have not seen this particular box being shown before.
My first subscription box and my candy was also missing-not that I care. But the box only had one piece of paper tape holding it together. Nothing else. I love everything in the box. But truthfully, Mrs. Quilty needs to seal their flimsy boxes better. Edited to add, the tape on my box was NOT broken. Just needed to have more and better sealing done. This concerns me regarding all my future boxes. I appreciate your review. As I said, this was my first box, so I am looking for all reviews of Mrs. Quilty.
The last mrs q box I got was my absolute last. The magazine actually requested customers contact them with any errors they may find...there have been so many pattern errors that they obviously do not edit them before they publish. They claim to be run by "quilters" but that is definitely not true. I hope people don't waste their money on this subscription. They are actually owned by a company licensed in the Netherlands.
Hi! Im a new subscriber👋 ok if you are very new to quilting and piecing the fpp (foundation paper piecing) is really for something to do on down the line unless you have help. Even some seasoned quilters have trouble with it the first couple of times. There are some TH-cam videos out there you might want to look at. The quilting community is very happy to help if you need it. I wish you luck and I'll be watching. 👋
After the first shipped boxes had a lot of customers who had the candy melt a mess up the fabric that they had to replace. So the one you received is likely to have been on the second shipments where they opened and removed it before shipping.
Hi Carrie! I’m late watching since I hadn’t seen your channel before but TH-cam suggested yours which I’m happy they did. I subscribed! My candy was missing also and this was my first box. Mrs Quilty customer service said they stopped adding it because it could melt in shipment. Which it could here in GA. You got more ribbon than I did. My tea was just like yours. I wish they would have had green fabric for the tulip pattern. The placemat you could do a solid strip of fabric instead of doing the one with all the pieces showed in the picture. Overall I liked it too!
Thank you for stopping in! Makes sense on not wanting the chocolate not to melt. I would have liked a green for the leaves as well. I plan on pulling a green from my stash! Be sure to stop back and let me know how your projects turn out.
I have a question. Do you think the book is printed wrong, or are we as new Quilters reading something wrong. For the Tulip block page 7 says cut A and B 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 rectangle Page 8 says 4"x7" Am I missing something? If anyone can shed light on that, I would be most greatful.
I am not sure which is wrong. I posted the comment on a Mrs. Quilty Facebook page and someone commented that they cut the fabric at the 4x7 and it turned out bigger than then the project projected (if I remember correctly). I know mine turned out smaller because I cut according to the cut directions.
Hi that was my first box and candy was missing too. But i ordered 2xtra fat quarters and only got 1. And iam having a terrible time with them trying to correct the error. If anybody could help me getting it solved would appreciate it. Thank uou
I’ve heard other viewers say “ they get zero response when contacting them” that’s a really sad situation of customer service to hear it time and time again. ❤️😀
Hi Carrie! Thanks for the positive review! I enjoy your smile and laid back attitude! Too many people bash the Mrs. Quilty box. I've never gotten a sewing or quilting box. I'm just watching all the reviews so I can decide. I get that it's not on the same level as say, Open Gate. But then it's only $31.00 and its geared toward beginning quilters. No offense please. This is just my opinion and I know noone asked for it. If it's not your cup of tea, just cancel and move on. No biggie! Someone somewhere must like it or they wouldn't be in business.😊 Have an awesome weekend all!
Thank you for stopping by!! I agree. Sometimes it’s hard to just move on if one doesn’t like something. I am not unhappy with Mrs. Quilty. I just get flustered with their pattern instructions.
@@crafterslog my statement was not necessarily aimed at you. It was just my general opinion. I've seen a lot of negative comments on more th han one channel regarding the MQ box. I'm subscribed to your channel and have been for awhile.
That’s how you learn. My seam ripper are pals too. I have been sewing since I was in the seventh grade, actually before that if you count sewing for my doll by hand and I am a senior citizen now, age 94. As I said one step at a time.
I would contact the shop and let them know about the missing candy let them know about the tea too. Also I’d give the a review of the box to the shop. These are representations of their shop. Those patterns except for the apron are not beginner friendly. I watched you stumble through this box, no fault of yours. That is the worst box I’ve ever seen with an unboxing. You should have had plenty of fabric for 3 patterns. I’m hoping the next box you get to review and share with us has things that delight you!
That was my first box from Mrs Quilty. I was not impressed, but decided to wait for the next box to see if it gets better. On my second box, they took my money out of my account on June 6, it’s now June 19 and I finally got a “shipped” notification for expected delivery by June 24. We’ll see. Something not discussed is that all the projects require additional yardage fabrics. So far, I’m unimpressed, but I’m giving them one more chance.
@@gailwhite8796 maybe the third time is a charm. Are they new at this subscription box? I can see needing finishing fabric, and some boxes have that in their shops. I’m hoping the 3rd box is better for you!
Mrs Quilty box was the worst excuse for a gift box I ever received. Mine had Zero candy too. Which is fine, I would not have eaten it anyway. I am diabetic. They put some GOD wakeful tea itoo. How dare them put that crap in a sewing box. If I want something to eat or drink I will get it from Kroger. This is just a cheap way to add something for nothing!
From what I understand they are fairly new to doing these boxes. (I could be wrong) I am not fond of getting edible items in boxes like this. I prefer something sewing related.
Your box was opened???!!? I would advise you to contact the company and let them know. Make sure to let them know the candy was missing and that you won't use the tea because it is unsafe because who knows if it has been tampered with. Their response will clearly tell you if they are a reputable company or not. A reputable company will without a doubt make it right so you have customer satisfaction. I have worked for big companies for years and their aim is 100 percent customer satisfaction.
These fabrics are beautiful! Can’t wait to see your creations!
I have been impressed with their fabrics!

@crafterslog not a pattern just short with a extra I ordered with my first order. And I didn't have luck with that site at all.

Mines was missing as well
Customer service said they had to remove the chocolate because of warmer temps. No one wants melt chocolate on fabric.
But why is the candy missing?
They opened the boxes to take it out because the weather was warming up and didn’t want it to melt.
They may have gone back and taken the chocolate out of your box so it wouldn't melt all over your fabric in the summer heat.
I am sure that’s exactly what they did.
Make sense as mines was also missing. But replace it with something.
