- Ep 34 Putting It Off No Longer!! Make a Micro/Mini/Small Lathe (Compound & Tailstock Graduation Marks)

This lathe was briefly started many many years ago by an unknown Engineer, passed through a few pairs of hands since with nothing else done to it, until i got hold of it, so i will continue with the small amount of work already done, to finish the lathe in to a Imperial Micro / Mini / Watchmakers Lathe with screw cutting capabilities & back geared, everything has got to be made from Scratch including the Back Gears, Clutch, Change wheels, Leadscrew, Tailsock, Spindle, Pulley's, Screwcutting Mechanism, Dials etc etc just to name a few. The casting is very elegant and well made item, with a good foundation to start from.
There were numerous manufactures of these small lathe in Great Britain many moon's ago, to many to name here, so do a search and take a look at the huge seclection of makers and differing shapes, sizes and capabilities.

Yes comes in handy my 40 year old Bosch Router, they don't make them like that now. Not forgot your sticker, these are a few vids in front while i do some home and car maintenenace. not been in the workshop for a while now to hobby work.

Yes not far off, wish i had more time to do everything else in my life!!!, loads of jobs around the home and car to do, might be winter before i can use it in anger, then it will be too bloody cold, can't win, but i'm not complaining

Hi kev, just thinking out loud here, could you put a Vernier scale on the top slide to line up with the base you've just engraved so that you can get accurate sub division of the 5° increments?

I would like to make a guide for my stamp letters too, but the letters arent in the same posision on the shafts of the stamps. So, that doesn't work.
