Would Peter Glynn be related to Mr John Glynn, the housemaster of St John's Prep school from the village of Alton??? I was a pupil there from '72-'79. He often mentioned a son by the name of Peter. Very fond memories of the school, the nuns and Mr Glynn.
I was at the primary school until 79. Sister Mary Lelia was the Headmistress when I left but before her it was Sister Mary Therese. I remember Monsegnior Faye, Father Johnson & Father Kearns.
@@dawiddadun3044 indeed, it was a beautiful place to be a child and I lived at Marchington, near Uttoxeter but was a boarder at St Johns Prep, spending more than half the year in Alton, and I sometimes have reason to pass through the village and it remains a nostalgic, lovely place in rain or shine.
I think you're right about the relatedness. I was last in Alton in autumn 2012, presumably ca. six months after this video was made, and entered my name in the visitors' book of St. John the Baptist. After Alton, Peter Glynn went to Cotton College (in 1970), which is in a right state (it closed in 1987), and is probably now irrecoverable. That mustn't happen to Alton. @@simonpalling3215
A great video of my home village. I wouldn't live anywhere else.
This is a great Production, you packed so much information into Ten minutes! First Class! Loved It.:-)
Great Vid Peter. The slight mist around the abbey made it appear quite spooky.
Great video and really captivating to watch. Loved the Abbey, scared of the "edge" (can't imagine Ian going near it) and gutted about the lock !
