As a listener, we can only be in eternal gratitude for everything that this musician, close to the Gods of the sound world, has offered us.
Very happy that you enjoyed this upload. Notice how he displayed several colours of the raag with little or no variation in the madhyalay rhythm. Right from beautifully serene musical passages to scintillating taan-s, the entire spectrum of the raag displayed in the same tempo... all sounding so natural. A once in a century artist. aapni-o khub bhaalo thaakben...
Around 5:11 UVK does a pattern I've heard in his 1960s Bilawal recording that just gives me such chills...very soulful and sweet rendition of the 4 notes Sa Re Ga ma
That's an interesting observation. While S-R-G-m sounds ok for Bilawal, the conventional phrasing for Jhinjhoti is typically D'-S-R-m-G (and it belongs to a different Thaat... Khamaj). However I hear him follow that S-R-G-m phrase with S-R-G-m-G and bring us back to the realm of Jhinjhoti. Deft touch by the artist. Thanks for your comment.
