The new one just doesn't have the same impact. No Russian was making mainstream news back in 2009. I mixed in the end credits for MW2(2022) as I thought it blends perfect with MW3 fyi
I played No Russian when I was a kid, and it was memorable because playing AS a terrorist in 2009 when 9/11 was still fairly fresh in people's minds ivoked a feeling that was super uncomfortable for players back then. The feeling of humanizing the enemy that could be walking in broad daylight and pulling the trigger as one of them had people self-actualize like they weren't used to doing when playing video games Im not really sure what this new mission was supposed to invoke... like at all. Its playing 1st person as a normal-feeling passenger while some other people blow up a plane. Its sad, but in 2023 none of this going down is surprising whatsoever. The last part with the bomb on your chest couldve been kinda interesting, but they end it in like 2 seconds. I kinda agree with people like Jacob Geller that modern Call of Duty, because of prioritizing shock value with no purpose, has become a pretty dangerous and borderline evil video game to have kids playing. Has nothing to do with violence (M Rated games are awesome) but more to do with showing this level of surplus realistic violence/terror and then having every game more or less end with you, the player character, fighting for America as the good guy who's actions are justified as "good" by the end no matter what. Its mad weird to me to be treating foreign soldiers simply as "the bad guys needing to be stopped at any cost" when No Russian 2009 existed from the same franchise
The damn lobbyists probably in their pocket so they can’t show the real horrors of war shit like they used to be showing because people would actually start to think and use their brains again not like their not but we all know how these corporations think
It wasn’t violence for no reason did you even play the game? Makarov did it to get a war between America and Russia which is literally the entire plot of the game. No it wasn’t great for them to include it only 8 years after 9/11 but looking on it now it at least shows they had the balls to take a risk and they had the option to skip the mission if you were sensitive to those topics. Your argument about needless violence isn’t even valid because of the option to skip the mission and that it sets up the entire plot of the game.
It's weird, I wasn't expecting much but still somehow feel disappointed. idk, I guess I thought that they'd pay special attention to the campaign since they're just rehashing the multiplayer.
Lmao this is why I have not bought a single cod game after mw 2019 that was the last decent cod. And it's just a update not even its own game they just copied what overwatch did and called it "mw3" I'm happy I have not bought a single cod game so I dont get disappointed
For as short at the campaign was, they really shouldve let Makarov win. Every time hes so close but 141 stops him. It really shouldve been a losing battle, Soap's death wouldve had way more impact that way. Farah should have died when trying to find evidence of Makarov's inference during the plane crash segment as well(1v20 people?? okay activision..). It would have set up so much for either Warzone dlc or the next game.
As is with every COD game made in the last several years, the good guys always winning feels super unearned. "Bad" guys, no matter how interesting and even justified their motives seem, gotta lose because they just need to in these games now. Ngl, it makes these campaigns feel like tech demos mixed with US Military propaganda because of it lol. People old enough to play the much older CODs see through this stuff too easily in 2023
They wanted to tone it down . Plus, why would you want Farah to die? She is awesome and they wanted. If you ask, I kinda like that the fact that many awesome characters are still alive. Except for Soap.
6:52 Bruh don't tell me Activision be using the same recycled asset model for the guy....I low-key thought the guy was surprising his wife some shit.....until...it caught me off guard

I will be honest with you. New version of "no russian" mission is just a freaking disrespect to original MW3. I mean, look at both of these missions: original and new version. Original is way better because, you are actually a part of it. You are actually playing the game from start to finish, while in new version 80% of it is just a scripted cutscene, where you can only turn camera around, and the rest of the % is a little bit of shooting here and there few times, which is a massive downgrade in comparison to original one. Also, original mission was so controversial that in some countries, and then in later versions of the game, it got removed from the game completely because of how violent, brutal and of what it asks you to do. And what do we have in new MW3? A freaking cutscene with movable camera. Do I have to continue on why it is so bad??? Also, this mission in new MW3 is one of the examples of why I don't play modern video games. Because they suck! No creativity, no freedom, no interesting situations with cool level design and different possibilities, NOTHING! So you know what I did? I installed good old "First Encounter Assault Recon" aka "F.E.A.R", and I have insane amount of fun than if I played some modern FPS games, with microtransactions and pay to win mechanics.
Agreed with pretty much all this, except not sure I agree with modern popular games overall having no creativity. Alan Wake 2 just came out last week lol, Spiderman the week before that, Lies of P a few weeks before that, Armored Core and Baldurs Gate the month before that, etc ... This channel is full of gameplay from those games if you're curious. Every gamer has something to enjoy nowadays, especially when you avoid rotting companies like Activision and Ubisoft

The new one is so indicative of this rollercoaster design we see in games these days.
