    Watching you setting up the pulleys on that 440 reminds me of when i did that on my 327 Nova SS in the mid 80s . Getting everything to line up and finding and making all the brackets , you are handling it better than i , very frustrating i remember crying a little ha ha

    4 pulleys, 2 for alternator and a/c, one for power steering, and one for the water pump. Two easy repairs on a 383/400/440, 4 bolt water pump with its own drive belt and oil pump right behind the oil filter. Spark plugs under the exhaust manifold are more of a challenge to change.

    Keep an eye on the 440 in the summer heat idling around town. I am not a Chrysler guy but I did convert a 350 in a 57 chevy to the old school 283 engine dress. 4 blade fan, large fan pulley, etc. And it would run hot in summer traffic. The 350 originally had a smaller water pump pulley and multi-blade fan like your 440 had.

    Once you have the window rubber out, put it in a plastic bag and hose it down with silicon spray, close up the bag and let it sit. Hose it down once a day for a few days and it will soften up.

    A little help on the Alt Pulley. I believe if you source a 2 row alt pulley it will work. Chrysler did that on some models to get alignment. Check, it should work. Good Luck.

  • @SweatyFatGuy
    @SweatyFatGuy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Looks good Dan. Checkin your video while I eat lunch, then I will get back to doing a lot of nothing and thinking about considering maybe on a good day with the possibility of an offhand chance that I might cut up the Silverado in the shop for parts to put on the C10.
    Why the yoke is so long is simple, it has to engage the rear bushing that supports the tailshaft. Mopars have a loooooong tailshaft, so they end up with a long yoke to engage the rear bushing. Its similar to how the 2004R needs a longer yoke than the 700R4 and Th350 that use the same size and splines, if its not long enough the tailshaft won't be supported in operation, and it will kill the trans.

    Dual pulleys on engine and alternator are factory issued on Chrysler cars with Air Conditioning... On 1970's & 80's Chrysler Early Electronic Ignition; you must switch to a double ballast resister from single ballast resister... !! MY 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner; withen 5 years new, had major rust & rot at the Windshield gasket seal on interior & exterior bottom jam frame just above the Vin Tag... Replacement of windshield gasket is recommended when have Windshield out... !!
