Hi Kevin, i wanted to share with you my experience with the black gold when i first started using it i used it alone without additives and it worked great for rooting but that was it just a ton of roots but the leaf growth haulted so i would have to repot them i would repot my plants out of the stratum and into leca or pon or what ever substrate i was using and i would always add a small amount of stratum just around the root balls and thats when i noticed my plants started producing new leaves and the roots were still coming like crazy. I learned that if i mix a littlee stratum with the substrate that little bit was more than enough to make the plant grow beautifully, just a little is all thats needed so if you make a prop box with perlite and add a little stratum to it to give it color that will be more than enough, i also let stratum sit in my watering cans and ferment then i water my plants with that water they love that to, stratum became soo popular a year or so ago but expensive so finding ways to stretch it was a biggie for me, you mixing a little stratum with your pon is perfect its definitly still gonna do the job, i have some alocasia corms rooting right now in perlite with a little stratum that i mixed in on the top part of the container and in a week all of my corms are rooted and growing its still unbelievable growth your doing it right and your plants are gonna love you for it

Dear Kevin, as for all the IKEA Cabinets, while putting them together filling the gabs with some weather stripping (hope this is the way to say it in English). It's quite easy, just has to be done while assembling the greenhouse. After the humidity will be higher, maybe a litte fan for air circulation can help. It's really not hard all. Love from Switzerland

You have to weather strip it to keep airflow from coming in

I came here to say the same. All Ikea greenhouses and cabinets are just for decoration, you need to weather strip it yourself to turn them into actual greenhouses. I have the same one you got and weather stripped mine and it keeps 70% humidity in there. I followed the "Oh the places you'll grow" channel tutorial and it worked fine.

I've been trying to curate my own anthurium since I'm moving, and my SO had the same comment- they all look the same anyways. But they all have different characteristics and it's hard to pick favorites!! Especially when they're young and you don't quite know what they'll grow up to look like yet!

WildFern has leca in the bottom of her green house with water for her Bagonia’s. I wonder if that would help your humidity? I have found Anthurium do not need the extra humidity, but I am fairly new.

Good vid Kevin! I think anthuriums look so different, even from the same seed-batch; they’re a beautiful genus!

I can’t figure out why but, before a certain stage, Anthuriums do not do well in semihydro. I actually did a side-by-side comparison with a batch of seeds and the semihydro ones performed way worse, even after increasing the ppm of the nutrient solution. Once they put out their first not baby-baby leaf (ie when they show some veining), they love semihydro. It is a mystery. I would love to know why. Semihydro is just more convenient for me so I prefer it so I move them over once they’re big enough but I do take my general nutrient solution and dilute it by half until they start making adult (thick) roots.

I weather striped my small ikea greenhouse and have a heat mat placed in the bottom. Works a treat

I weather strip both of mines with a tray of leca + water to give it more humidity😊

I finally got on the bandwagon also of Molly’s Aroid Mix and combining some Tree Fern also adding bonsai jack grit mix. It is very expensive, but right now that is what I am comfortable with. Perhaps I’ll go semi-hydro when I am exhausted from watering. 😅

Hello sir, another grate video. I love Anthurium . I only have Anthurium and a few philodendrons. I dont have hoya ,i fear flat mites ! . Anthurium crosses are grate and they do look different . I just got four Karteldaun seeds recently, exciting but 😨 scary. Anthuriums love tree firn fiber . I go through about 40L of it a year. I will only put them in tree firn fiber ,they respond rapidly. Keep us updated, please❤ .
