A lot of people say fishing is luck, and to a degree, that's true. But what is luck? We make our own luck. Luck is where preparation meets opportunity. KVD mastered that.
I'm 55 and have followed Kvd since his very first start at the St Lawrence river event going back to 91-92. It's been an amazing journey following his whole career that no matter what we all were blessed to see and his accomplishments on and off the water were unmatched in many ways to this day. We loved this sport more than anything and all of us felt like Kvd each time we just went fishing. He also taught us alot over the years. I was blessed to grow up watching Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Muhamad Ali, Tom Brady and all of the greats from these and other sports. Now I get to add the amazing Kevin Van Dam to that iconic list since some of that journey is over. He belongs right there rightfully so with each name mentioned above. To have seen that much greatness through all of them has been a blessing most have taken for granted when it's done and over. If you loved to just go fishing as we all do than Kvd and all the greats before him meant alot to us all in someway.
Anything KvD says about those crazy large mouth bass is pretty much solid gold and works down in Southeast NC. He's taught me a lot throughout his amazing career. Thanks KvD
You could start a bait shop with that collection. Incredible. Your truly a blessed sportman and your ethics are second to none. Ive enjoyed watching your career.
All-around great ambassador for fishing and hunting All-around outdoors man great man thanks for the memories Kevin you are the best God bless you and your family enjoyed you always on the circuit and your input to the outdoors thanks
Kevin, forgive me for not knowing you’re a guitarist and that Sexy Shad Guitar is absolutely gorgeous 😍💎🎶😎 you are definitely one of the most organized anglers I’ve ever seen 😎👊
Love these type of videos. Would love to see you show and demonstrate some of skills like casting (believe me if I fill my spool up to the top gonna be backlash city for me), the ease and quickness you change out hooks dealing with the split rings blows me away too. I know these are second nature to you , but your skill at these things is off the charts. Thanks KVD for your videos you are making now!
Mr Kevin Van Dam it was nice meeting you today I know you met a lot of people today at Michigan boat show but I was the young man that beat cancer I hope you never forget me and one day hopefully we'll have the pleasure to go fishing you made my whole year
Man I’ll never forget the time I won my first tournament on a kvd tube in lake Champlain , during weigh in you were launching to head out I was the only one to walk over an say sir …. Are you really kvd ? You just smiled …. Said ( yes sir ) an off ya went …. Never forgot it …. Some People were just meant to be out there heroes are remembered legends never die
I use a lot of strike king products and this past year I’ve used at least 300 Yamamoto 5” senko’s on wacky rig. Thanks for sharing your tackle room and good luck next year in your fishing tournaments
KVD is the man the Michael Jordan of bass fishing an Mann I rember when the square Bill crankbait came out I was young probably like 11 12 an got me one I was fishing at my big bass spot an I've caught a 9 pounder before I mean the bass I lost on that crankbait is the biggest bass I've ever seen in my life at less 12 pound
Kevin has enough Quantum gear stached away. He should just start giving it all away to his followers over the years. If he has any Quantum Smoke S3 Baitcaster reel's left. I would buy them all. For cheap! Maybe The Smoke HD reel's too. Great reel's for the money. He made a bunch of money with Quantum. Shawn
Hey Kevin, you need to send me a lot of that excess tackle that you have there. You're never going to use all of that. Especially with all the new stuff you keep getting. I'm an old man ( 67 )who can't afford the prices they charge for that stuff. P.s. You could send a used boat this way also. After all, it is the season of giving, right?
The man, the myth, THE LEGEND. KVD will always in my heart be the best of the best on and off the water.
Dominated his entire career!!!!!! So crazy. You deserve everything you have KVD!!!!!!!
A lot of people say fishing is luck, and to a degree, that's true. But what is luck? We make our own luck. Luck is where preparation meets opportunity. KVD mastered that.
It is about being at the right place at the right time. But to that point comes preparation and that gut instinct.
As Ben Hogan said…the more I practice, the luckier I get
Wow Kevin. I’m a huge fan and the collection is insane. Awesome memories pal. Got more tackle than a shop lol. Enjoy

Send a care package my way. I'm in need of some crankbait rods and baits. The whole 9 yards and a boat😂😂😂😂.
