I have just installed one. It is plug and play. No leaking etc. Also it correctly displayed the instant and average salt levels. It has been only a day, but so far no regrets. Hayward is just unjustifiably expensive.
My original Hayward T15 lasted 8 years. I purchased the Platinum Addition replacement cell from the Salt Pool Store and it works great. It was plug and play and arrived well packaged. Not sure what your experience is with them, but I saved a lot of money for a direct replacement that has no issues; a lot cheaper than Blue Works.
My Hayward T15 salt cell lasted 8 years. I have tried one Blue works salt cell and that lasted 2 years. I recently tried Optimum Pool Technologies Simple Cell Replacement Salt Cell and it only lasted one year and is complete junk. Im going to spend the extra money for the Hayward since most reviews say it lasts 5 or more years. You get what you pay for.
Yeah I spent so much time researching and figuring out the best way to save money on this I figured I would make a quick video and save someone sometime. I like doing this review I may do more.
Oh wow, surprised your Hayward T15 only lasted 2yrs. My last two have averaged 6-7 years. Now I need another but at $900 HELL NO! Last Hayward T15 I bought was $380. Gonna give this one a try since Hayward cells aren't lasting as long as they use to.
The Howard I had was originally from the previous owner of my home. It could be that he was not as compulsive about keeping all the levels perfect like I am. So who knows with these things it may just be random or it could have been user error before me. I definitely agree with you on the $900. That’s just insane. Good luck and let me know how the new one works for you. So far I am 100% satisfied with the offbrand.
Don't do it.. They have a terrible customer service department. Very, very bad. And good luck with the warranty. Might be better if you speak fluent Mandarin. I don't. God screwed.
Hayward System here... Three T-5 Cells and One Control Unit in 7yrs. My chemicals stay spot on all 365-24/7. I do the cleanings as instructed by the product. I feel like these aren't lasting long enough as I have a buddy getting near 6-7 years out of his Pentair and he sucks at keeping his pool in check...I have always used Hayward for everything and generally had the best Results and Longevity out of Hayward over the competition but the Salt Cells don't seem to be lasting nearly as long as Pentair and a few other brands...
Love your videos they are so helpful!!!… I’ve got a whirlpool push button start washer WTW4616FW1. Replaced the lid lock and now the new lid lock is making a buzzing noise just asking for advice. Would it be the control board?
@@135sanders mine was pretty much plugg-and-play. The only quirk is it’s about 200 over what the actual salt level is and I have not figured out a good way to recalibrate it. But honestly it’s not a big deal because I always manually check it.
@@135sanders yes. I don’t like the ones that Little Square piece at the end of the strip. I find the ones from Clorox work best. They take about three minutes to get the result but much more accurate. I also take a sample to my local pool store about once a month to make sure I’m not missing anything.
It’s working just fine but I decided to change the pool to regular chlorine because I’m going to be renting the house Airbnb full-time for a while. It’s just easier and cheaper for my Pool Guy to upkeep and maintain it.
Hello!!! How can I raise a portable washer that is placed in the tub with the drain hose in there as well. Want to protect the bottom of the washer from water damage without having to pay $30 for a stand.
Honestly $30 is a pretty good price for a stand. But if you’re trying to get away for cheaper I would recommend getting a treated 2 x 4 and building a square box and attaching the washer to it. But you’re not going to save a ton of money lumber is very high right now.

Thanks for doing this. It was very helpful. We went with the Blue Works cell (1 year warranty version), and so far so good.
Glad to help.

So how is it working 2 yrs later?

Always good information in your videos. Thanks!
I always try to help. Even if it doesn’t have to do with Appliances.

Could be but I would first order another lid lock from Amazon and return it if that’s not the problem. The control board would be a lot more money.
Did you use it with your existing sand filter?
Yes
After 2 weeks, how is it holding up?
Still working perfectly. And still under warranty…. for one year at least.
@@WasherDryerMoney thanks for the update. I will be getting mine on Tuesday

Does anyone know how to calibrate this cell ? Mine is reading very high. Tested the water. It’s right where it should be

I apologise looking into it further it seems you can buy these through various buying services and they ship USA to your local country Sites like ubuy
Never heard of that site. Is it cheaper than Amazon.
