1. Glad you enjoyed the hunt and our hospitality. Two things we take great pride in. 2. Men carrying AK-47 or "Kalashi", as we say it locally, is a common sight in the northern areas of Pakistan. It's there for self-defense only and based on the principle of self-reliance. We don't ask others, including the government, to defend our homes, families and property. We do it ourselves. For this reason, northern areas have the lowest crime rate in all of Pakistan. This might be strange to a city dweller or a foreigner but its normal for us. 3. Hospitality and protection are offered to all visitors/guests without any expectation. Its part of Pashtunwali code so you have nothing to be afraid of regardless the size of their beard. Hope the new year is kind to us all.

Hate the Animal hunting but this is a very informative documentary. What a difficult hunting experience one of lucky life experience. Seen so many hunting this one is very well documented. What a magnificent animal
Mr. Smith, Have you written a book documenting your sheep and wild goat hunts? In the video you had mentioned you have harvested over 30 species, your book could have a chapter for each species taken. It would be very interesting and give future generations an amazing first person account of these magnificent creatures.
Each of my hunting books has stories of sheep and goat hunts in them. Check them out at www.jalainsmith.com or you can buy them on my Facebook Page or thru Amazon. Thanks for watching!

I have found in my 68 years that most people just want to make a living and be left the hell alone. That looked like a very hard physically demanding hunt. I first became aware of the Markhor in the old Weatherby Guide, that old Roy use to mail out. I got on the list because I did buy or my mom did an MK V in 300 WM for my Birthday back in '72. I still have the rifle, I don't shoot it much.I like the 7mm RM and the Weatherby version a lot better. Thou I did shoot a few moose and a few elk with it.
