Technology has its place when it’s well thought out and implemented.
Can’t wait until the day where you don’t have to sit in a machine and deal with the noise and vibrations all day long.
Also the fact that you don’t need to invest in a monster trailer or truck to pull that to a job site is a definite bonus.
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing and showing us what’s available and what’s coming out next.

The remote muncher needs a video camera streaming video to the remote so the operator sees exactly what is being munched up close.

That power lift is really nice. Didn't think it would be interesting. But the Engineers/Techs did their homework on that. I spent quite abit of time in a "scissor" lift. And can tell you that they can get sketchy when working high up.

i am sure you cant just sit on a truck with AC on and operate it 100% remotely. from personal experience you need to be close as you never know what you can pickup/find on the fields (you do know what i am talking about as you had it many times happening to you as well). from concrete wires, to metal bars etc.

Remote controlled seems kind of dangerous to me.. I think you need eyes on what you are doing so nothing gets destroyed that shouldn’t be like a newborn critter or wire or metal ruining your equipment.. The guy is standing out there controlling it, so you may as well be in it and viewing it up close and personal.

Could pair this with a drone and run it remotely from a heck of a distance. Can't see what it is doing? A drone can. The zoom on even a consumer drone would be way more than enough. Not saying this is a practical idea but it could work. I would also like to see one of these powered by a gas turbine, just for fun. The fuel burn rate would be insane but so would the noise and ferocity. Just for fun.

First of all that thing looks like something that should be in the military and a beast. To me it seemed slow in overall speed. So why a remote control. What advantages does that bring compared to a normal mulcher? Like someone said before I’d prefer to be right there to see what I’m doing rather than a few hundred feet away from. It’s a cool little toy but I’d much rather the real McCoy. Anyway great little video mate and nice to see it at work 🤙😎🇦🇺

  • @seanarnold9513

I believe there is technology out there that would allow you to enter the GPS boundaries for a property and you enter them into the remote-control unit, and it will work by itself. You just supervise it.

You should add hydraulic cylinders to the push bar on your big munchie like it has on this machine so you can curl it down like they do when needed. I bet they make a kit so you can retrofit them to the push bar on your mulcher.

I'd still prefer a skid steer and a mulcher to this, more adaptable. Although I might grab a used one in the future. Does it have cameras for operating remotely because I'd want to operate from an air conditioned area, because it's hot AF here in South Texas. That's another plus for a skid steer.

There are self driving lawn mowers now. But an operator has to set out the areas for it to operate and observe the job. So the same number of humans are there. This cannot function without an operator. To spot obstacles, make it go slowly into a tree or fast thru bushes. You can see the decisions of the operator here in the video

An operator still required so why remote, also in my opinion the operator is disconnected from the machine and what's lurking ahead. Running equipment sometimes requires a hands on feel that you can't have standing 100 feet away from things happening. With equipment like this I would rather be 100% connected inside a cab knowing what's happening. My opinion anyway which I'm sure your exact feelings!
