Lol you two were suggested to me and it's funny you guys visited Völklingen. Lived and grew up there until we moved two cities over. My father worked on a blast furnace in the "Völklinger Hütte" (the steelworks) until it was closed. I hope you liked it, best regards

Guys, if you plan to go to the east, to the River Rhein, I suggest you to visit the Automuseum Carl Benz in Karlsruhe, about 200 km southeast from were you are now. Later Benz joined with Daimler to form Daimler-Benz, the producer of the Mercedes Benz.
Ironworks and other metal industries are still very strong in Völklingen. Mining ended however indeed 2012 in the Saarland. Germany had the luck that it had a bit of nearly everything. I did the same German trip as you did last year, but we did it in May . it is funny because we are planning this trip to the Pflaz and the Rheinland next May These trips were planned even before I saw your videos. I guess great minds think alike. I travel to Germany yearly because my family is from there and now my daughter plans to move there. Plus it is my favourite country to visit. Just curious as to why you travel there a lot. I know that it is a fantastic country, but any other reasons. Just a curious fellow Canadian
