Regine has a built-in amplifier. It's impossible to outsing her especially when belting. The louder the other singers get, the louder her voice becomes. But she's actually generous and professional on stage. She doesn't intentionally outshine other singers on stage except for 98 degrees. ^_^

I was at this concert. It was in Pasadena, CA. Both were outstanding. Lani blew the audience away with her operatic numbers, and of course Regine’s belted high notes are always a showstopper. Both shined in their own way, but yes, when they did their duets, Regine did overpower Lani a few times I remember. It was a showdown after all, so I won’t say that it was Regine’s intention to overpower Lani. They both gave their best, and Regine’s voice just happened to drown Lani’s when they both belted.

Lani always tones her voice down when singing duets..She almost always takes the role of the backup singer and harmonizes with the other singer..It is not like her to belt her lungs out when in a duet with any singer..I think the plan for their duets in this concert was that Regine sings the melody..But as what is expected of Regine, she will own any song and make improvisations to show her fantastic and unrivaled vocal flair! It's hard to think of anybody who can keep up with her when she decides to belt her face off.. They are both insanely amazing vocalists..Definitely among the best singers in the world..

Its also the producers and audience who make a request for the songs they are singing since foreign singers only come once in a blue moon.
