    Andrew, your tuition style is the best on TH-cam. You don't beat around the bush with preparing redundant sketches, but you come in prepared and go straight to the point. You help me learn most FreeCAD features per second and save me a ton of time.
    That's why I subscribed.

    I appreciate your teaching style especially the way you include potential pitfalls in each step - very easy to follow. These are great tools - FreeCAD getting better and better.

    This demonstration immediately translates to the ready creation of springs and regular external and internal threads - the spring representation being especially handy for use in mechanical engineering designs and assembly drawings.

    Great video tutorial. I really like that you say every action you are making, every button you are clicking, etc. I find it hard to keep up with other teachers because they assume too much about the viewer and I get distracted trying to figure out what action they made. Great audio, great examples. I'd give you a 10/10. Thank you.

    Great explanation of the helix tool! This is new to me, and you did a great job of showing how it works. thx.

    As usual a great tutorial! I used the new tool to make a screw on water bottle cap yesterday. It's really handy and simplifies a lot of projects. Your library of tutorials will be appreciated by newcomers for a long time, I'm sure.

      That sounds good! That's the awesome thing about this tool, it's just so easy to use, and it allows for you to manipulate the helix so easily 😀 Thank you for watching funkysod, your support is very much appreciated 😁

    As trivial as these bugs are, I gave up on these tools because they just didn't seem to work. Thank you Andrew for posting this explanation.
    TWIMC: A bug fix would be very helpful. ; )

    Hello Andrew, I have a real challenge which is about the helix, subtractive on a cylinder like a thread. Then put another helix on the same spot and reverse it. so it comes to a continous path as found in fishing spooling equipment. The problem is that I could not make it couple on the ends where the inverted and the regular helix connect. my setup is cylinder d=25, h=50. A 3mm wide cutout on the helix and 2 turns over 45mm. Basically if you rotate it is an inifinity path always crossing smoothly with an arc at both ends. Maybe you have an idea how to solve that.

    Is there away to add a rotation to the sketch so that it twists while it rotates around the axis?

    how does one limit the additive spiral so it ends at the end of the part flat instead of hanging over?

    @Andrew CAD Is there a way to draw a rectangular spiral in FreeCAD. I need to draw a coil wrapped around a rectangular tube.

    Wondering how to get those red preview shapes that you have. I just get a blank window if the part disappears.

    What about varying pitch on a single helix? I need it to start at a shallow angle or a straight line, and then gradually increase in pitch / get thighter. Is it possible to do so using this tool or helix tool in part workbench?

    Not sure why, but the 0.19 version i have doesn't have the helix options. is it an add-on?

    • @AndrewCAD
      @AndrewCAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Afternoon Linrox! The latest version downloaded from Github is 0.19.24012-win-Conda...I'm assuming it's the same for mac and linux. Just make sure you're up to date with the latest test version, and it should be available 😀
