That Flying Huntsman Civilian would be absolutely perfect for an overland/expedition vehicle conversion.. It is even long enough to even have a sleep inside bed with plenty of storage etc etc.. I love rewatching your videos about off road trucks, once and awhile. :)

land rover was making 6X6 in australa for the ADF from the late 1980 to the mid 1990 they are the land rover 110 perenti that they are getting rid of now for the G wagon

Over 20 years ago the Australian SAS used 6wd land rover perentie patrol vehicles. They were only dropped because of IED's.
I love the 6x6 huntsman because mainly for the manual gearbox which is pure connectivity to the machine and terrain

Brabus G63 is great until you go off-road. The best "off-road" G wagon is the NATO spec G500 Professional. And the Australian military has some 6x6 variants.

You seem to have missed one of the most versatile vehicles: THE PINZGAUER 718, which has at least the capacity to travel at a reasonable speed on normal roads, AND off road. Its a vehicle with particular potential to carry a camping body.

Those are awesome vehicles for sure. That shaman one at the end needs a much larger powerplant. That thing is gutless wonder lol they need to put a 6.7L powerstroke diesel or a Cummins diesel in it and watch that thing roar.

Hence, the TRAILCAT, a tease for Easter MOAB, that should have been built. Adding another axle and two more wheels would only make it more.... well..... MORE AWESOMER!

Automotive Territories, I am enthused by the 6X6 or even the 8X8 drive vehicles. HOWEVER, There's Only 1, that was advertised as having a Diesel engine. Converting diesel engines to "Anyoil fuel motors is much better for the coming needs of our earth. God help us.

Steyr Puch Pinzgauer 6×6. Best by a distance, 6×6 but only with portal axles, and fully independent suspension. The Pinzgauer is one of the best bits of common sense and good ingenious engineering ever designed.
If the 4x4 not enough to driveout, the 6x6 wont help neither!

Disappointed not to see the Arctic Trucks modification on the Hilux. A 6x6 modification with 44" tires that is actually operating every year in the Antarctic. I would think that after a few years of reliable service in that environment should warrant a place on this list.
It is a modification on offer in many of the Arctic Trucks workshops. Don't need the 44" tires but can go as small as 35".
It's been featured in my previous video on this topic.

Suv anx pickups heavily modified ranging from 33" tires up to 54" tires and all street legal. Made for overlanding in iceland going across glaciers. Maybe worth a video?

@@automotiveterritory yes that is true. Arctic Trucks offer what they call Self-drive tours in Hilux similar to the one used in the Top Gear Polar Special. There is also a company named Isak Land Rover. There you get a modified Land Rover Defender on 38" tires, the same size as the Arctic Trucks Hilux. There could be others but I do not know about more. A 38" modification is often considered to be the smallest modification for a vehicle weighing more than 2,5 tons. After that you should go bigger tires for snow wheeling. If you have a lighter Suv like a suzuki jimny thhen 35" should be enough.

Unimog is a universal solution, maybe not as stylish as some of these. But Unimog is more practical and capable for sure.
QUESTION: What is their essence?
Vehicles have moved past the stage, when they were used just for traveling from point A to point B. Now some cars are meant to be fast, cool, capable offroad or just unique. These are just fun adventure vehicles.

That could probably be because of the exclusivity of the vehicle and its limited edition badge.
I would take the Flying Huntsman, but lose the rear seats and turn it into an off-road camper, put an off-road cargo trailer on the back and perfect.
