  • This scrolling-score video features my work for women's chorus (SSAA), one of three settings of texts by female mystics. The beautiful recording is by Rocky Mountain Chamber Choir Virtual Singers.
St. Teresa of Ávila (1515 - 1582) was one of the great figures of the Catholic church: mystic, author and reformer. Her brief but powerful meditation has been revered for centuries.
Let nothing disturb you, Let nothing frighten you; All things pass.
God never changes. Patience obtains all things.
Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone is enough.
The other works in the set are Come Closer (Chameli Ardagh) and In the Flowing Light of the Godhead (Mechthild of Magdeburg). They are intended intermediate/advanced choirs and are available for purchase (print or download) at www.jwpepper.com. For more information about my work visit www.johnnewellmusic.com.
