@@محمدابوسليم-غ9غ The war was inevitable because Otto wanted his grandson on the throne, simple as that, even in episode 3 he says so; Rhaenyra could have been a man and it wouldn't have mattered.
This episode highlighted how diff alicent nd rhaenyra are treated. They are the same age alicent is viserys child bride married at 15 forced to carry his children and have sex when she doesnt want to (maritial rape) but rhaenyra at 18 is still a child in viserys eyes. Daemon was gross here he purposefully tried to ruin rhaenyra and her reputation just so he can get close to power. I feel so bad for both of them.
Alicent does not complain and indeed initiates the intimacy with Viserys' bath so the rape accusation is a little out of line. Viserys organized a tour for Rhaenyra in order to find her a husband so it's clear he no longer thinks of her as just a child. Daemon is not motivated by a desire for power. That's a complete misread of his character.
Go a step further with that analysis of why Daemon was turned off when - as you said" Rhaenyra began to take control. I think it is that control part that he had issues with. He wants to be in control- feels he knows what is best. He doesn't need to be the face of power but THE power behind the face. In that moment he was thrown off because Rhae is not easily going to turn over and let him lead as he thought she would. THAT to me is the source of his conflict. Not- as some others say- guilt.
It's simpler than that. Daemon wants Rhaenyra so he creates the scandal. He uncovers Rhaenyra's head in a public brothel so that Otto's spies will report on her being there but he leaves her virtue intact so that the scandal is not a complete disaster. It's damage control. Of course he does not anticipate the later tryst with Criston Cole.
Genuinely always amused that when Otto tells the King that his daughter was in a pleasure house he's like "Ok and? Do I owe somebody money or something?"
whats funny is the entirety of game of thrones is based on British history. basics -Celts=the first men -Anglo-Saxons=the Andals -Normans=Targaryen's -Hadrian's wall=the wall -the channel islands=the step stones -the massacre of glencoa=the red wedding -the Anarchy, a two-decade period from 1135 to 1154, when a man and a woman vied with each other for the English throne=house of the dragon. -The War of the Roses=game of thrones but in recent history after the late queen, there is knowledge that the some of the more recent royal including princesses have been very "liberal" and slept with multiple royal guards like rhaenyra did christen.
20:08 I love every time Viserys tells the prophecy to his daughter Rhaenyra and Daenerys' theme always plays in the background, she's the princess that was promised!

This episode really does make you understand Otto. He’s given this golden goose that could give him everything he wants but at the same time he hesitates because he knows Viserys won’t take it well. He has served as hand for a long time earning great power despite being a second son. In the end he does much to benefit Westeros as hand but can’t let go of the one selfish dream that overrules his sense of duty.
Daemon stopped kissing his niece because he initially was doing it to get one over on his brother by seducing her, but he realized as they were making out, that he really cared for her and didn't want to use her like that, so he hit the eject button. He got the result he wanted in a strange way without actually going through with it after the spies saw them.

Well done for catching that Otto is working with Mysaria (the White Worm). Keep an eye on her. This was the episode that turned me off Rhaenyra initially although future events brought me back to her side. That's the thing with this series, the characters are complex and you'll find yourself torn from one to the other. It's very well written and acted. Get ready for time jumps though haha
Rhaenyra this episode be like "How dare you accuse me of something I almost did 😠 who tf told you 😠" Alicent this episode be like "How dare you lose your virginity to your uncle 😠 you were supposed to lose it to your stepmother instead 😠"
Dude I know right? The young actresses have talked about how they played the characters where you could interpret it that way. I mean I understand she is also jealous of Rhaenyra being able to do and get away with things that she could never do but I really think it's also that Alicent loves her and is extremely repressed. This is another reason why I think she clings to her religion even harder later, not just because it helps her feel close to her mother but also I think she knows she can never have what she truly wants. I think it also makes her character far more interesting. Again they left it up to the viewer to decide how they see it which is a nice touch.
@@roguechevelleYeah I definitely believe it's both: she's jealous of Rhaenyra for having the freedom she herself was denied, *and* she's jealous of Daemon for having Rhaenyra. She's miserable, and the last time she was happy was before her marriage to Viserys, when her relationship with Rhaenyra was still intact. SPOILERS FOR LATER IN THE SEASON BELOW And although I agree that the romantic angle is very much something that is intended to be up to the viewers to read into this relationship or not as they see fit... Certain things later on in the season make a lot more sense if you *do* read a romantic angle into it. Who holds onto something their best-friend-turned-enemy gave them for twenty years if "best friend" was all they were to them?
If Otto wanted to destroy Rhaenyra's reputation he wouldn't have gone straight to her dad with the information, especially since we know he can get a word around... i honestly think Viserys projected some of his anger for his brother towards Otto in that moment, like at the end of the day he was just being made aware of something lmao like is the Hand honestly supposed to keep this stuff from the King? Also how is he gonna say he got played when Alicent was being her regular ass self and he wanted her to keep quiet (so he knew) yet he picked her bc of his alleged feelings, he still counts on her to be his version of a good wife and so on and so forth, like for someone who got played he seems to find the game really useful idk it seems like it was a very welcome "distraction" to me. And if he thinks she was being disgustingly used as a pawn by Otto then why keep using her that way? that's without touching on a lot of things but the narrative that Viserys was bamboozled and clueless makes about zero sense This whole brothel thing and the lies that come with it have insanely far-reaching consequences when you think of it like it put a real dent into everyone's trust, it's when one side decided that doubling down was gonna be the only thing they do and it's the sole reason Rhaenyra was "forced" to marry someone she didn't initially pick. The subsequent conversation w Alicent is so funny to me bc it's the first real time where people distort and misrepresent where Alicent's coming from and why she seems so invested (there are at the very least 3 reasons that come way before "she's jealous bc she doesn't orgasm" - mind you she's being raped but we move). I'm counting it as "the first real time" bc it's only slightly less ridiculous than the notion that she manipulated, seduced and forced Viserys' hand into marrying her (or that anyone did, for that matter) - unless existing as a slightly older version of the child he knew is what is being considered as the vile calculated seduction... (the script confirms that that's all it took) And although making Alicent seem entirely more sinister than she is is a very prominent and persistent trend i do appreciate that it hasn't happened once during those 4 reactions so far. Either way i've been enjoying hearing your thoughts, looking forward to the rest of the season ! Take care 💕
Well, in GOT they never explained what the Night King's plan was to cross the wall, supposedly the wall was protected with magic and that's why Benjen Stark couldn't cross it (although this contradicts season 1). The Night King was literally very lucky (or plot assisted) that a Targaryen flew over the wall and brought not one but THREE dragons with her (Jon's plan to capture a wraith was a very, very stupid plan). The dragon was the escape method that the dead needed from the beginning. So if Roberh managed to kill Daenerys, Viserys, and Jon Snow, then the prophecy wouldn't have mattered because without a dragon, the army of the dead wouldn't have been able to cross the wall, plus, King's Landing wouldn't have been destroyed. It's hard to see it like this but Robert was right when he called for Daenerys's death. The series screwed up the story so much that in the end there was no point in reviving the dragons because in the end only 1 was left alive, which means that the species will become extinct. Again.
Exactly, which is more puzzling that the show runners could not foresee that before they destroyed the ending of the series. Their excuse was they wanted to subvert expectation… I guess since we expected a good show the fooled us good eh?
Doesn’t matter what Robert wanted, in the end it didn’t happen and the prophecy came true. It’s the prophecy before reality. Since it’s literally the future (plus- there is a big possibility there are dragons who are in a different location with the whole west of Westeros thing, and there very well are more eggs- as well as dragons technically not having specific gender as it’s heard although I think of Drogon as a male)
Alicent is just jealous and misplacing her anger. She continues to toil in service of men, and stare out the window of her prison, while Rhaenyra has the courage to stick it to the men around her (ending her suitor tour and going out of the castle with Daemon). Realistically, why would she care at all if Rhaenyra is banging people?
She's the Queen, and she's batting for Rhaenyra and trusting her word even at the expense of her family and children. Stop treating this like a modern day soap opera; Rhaenyra is quite literally seeding the ground for civil war with her actions.

She knows where Alicents loyalties lay.
@@stephenjenkins7971 shes not her mother, and queen is meaningless while a King exists anyways. Viserys is her father and named her heir. He has justifications for caring about her actions. Good try tho.
This theory really doesn’t hold up at all. In the next episode she sails to High Tide/Driftmark. Now the journey there and back isn’t particularly long, but then there’s the time between the this episode and next to account for, even if it’s a few days. It’s likely they spend at least a few days at Corlys castle. As it makes little sense to just stay there for a day and then leave. Then there’s the time accounting for the wedding feast and preparations. Visery’s says it’s supposed to be a grand affair that lasts a week if I remember correctly. That would take some time to prepare. So, it’s not as simply put as the engagement was made and they marry a few days later. At this point we’d have some indication as to the princess being pregnant with Criston’s child if she didn’t take the tea. She says in the show her and her husband did try for a baby, implying additional time she isn’t pregnant. Harwin is very much certain her children are his. She’d be showing at this point if it was Criston’s. Her firstborn is definitely not Criston’s when you think about it like this.
I will not have you say that Rhaenyra more or less devoured Cole as if he had no guilt in the act. The same man who was salivating after her since episode 2. Come on, be a little consistent.
@@TheEsyaba Did i say that he was not into her ? There is a big difference between feeling attracted to someone and acting on it. She was initiating the acting on it. Rhaenyra is 19 in this episode, for Westeros culture she’s old enough to be married and have children, while Alicent was 15 when she was married to Viserys. Of course for our moral compass is weird, but this is a mediaeval fantasy show about a family of blonde psychos with dragons, so our modern rules shouldn’t apply.
How old is old enough is almost entirely a matter of social convention. The age of consent for sex was 10 across most of the USA until the late 19th century, when campaigns by christian feminist groups started to get it raised in increments. In Hawaii and Kansas, you can marry at 15 (with judicial approval) to this day. In 1957 the singer Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13-year old cousin in Mississippi and she had their first child within the year. When this was revealed during a UK tour it was regarded as scandalous and crashed his career, but it was perfectly legal.

@@محمدابوسليم-غ9غ The war was inevitable because Otto wanted his grandson on the throne, simple as that, even in episode 3 he says so; Rhaenyra could have been a man and it wouldn't have mattered.
Best outcome would have been having Aegon and Rhaenyra married.
Matt smith put the demon in Daemon😂
Genuinely always amused that when Otto tells the King that his daughter was in a pleasure house he's like "Ok and? Do I owe somebody money or something?"
Viserys has no problem with incest him and daemon’s parents were brother and sister
I want to see those fine tapestries from Norvos and Qohor
This is my favorite episode of the season. Millie Alcock is absolutely amazing in this ep.

whats funny is the entirety of game of thrones is based on British history.
basics
-Celts=the first men
-Anglo-Saxons=the Andals
-Normans=Targaryen's
-Hadrian's wall=the wall
-the channel islands=the step stones
-the massacre of glencoa=the red wedding
-the Anarchy, a two-decade period from 1135 to 1154, when a man and a woman vied with each other for the English throne=house of the dragon.
-The War of the Roses=game of thrones
but in recent history after the late queen, there is knowledge that the some of the more recent royal including princesses have been very "liberal" and slept with multiple royal guards like rhaenyra did christen.
20:08 I love every time Viserys tells the prophecy to his daughter Rhaenyra and Daenerys' theme always plays in the background, she's the princess that was promised!
This is disputed. There's a case to be made for both Jon Snow and Arya Stark. Jon unites the realm, Dany brings the dragons, Arya kills the Night King.

Rhaenyra's life would be so much better if daemon was never in it
Daemon stopped kissing his niece because he initially was doing it to get one over on his brother by seducing her, but he realized as they were making out, that he really cared for her and didn't want to use her like that, so he hit the eject button. He got the result he wanted in a strange way without actually going through with it after the spies saw them.
the white walkers woke up BECAUSE Robert ended the Targaryen dynasty...once Robert was on the throne, it was over with
Winter's got harsher after the dragons died as well.
Nah, there's no way Targaryens are the barrier between humans and walkers, especially not when Targaryens are the cause of most of the problems in Westeros.
@@MMAisTHEbestSPORT08 How are the targaryens the cause of most of westaros problems ? You do know before they showed up westaros was in constant war ? They made so many positive reforms for westaros and its people and did more for the common people then any noble house combined, literally right now westaros is in the middle of one of the worst wars in its history and targaryens are nowhere to be found .
@@MMAisTHEbestSPORT08 so it was just a coincidence they just so happen to wake up as soon as Jamie killed the max king?
@@powertrip25 Um, who said they woke up as mad king died? They could've woken up when season 1 started and or the first book which is at least 17 years after mad king died. So there really isn't a correlation between Targaryens and white walkers.
that child is a future war hero, no spoiling anything else.... lets just say rhaenyra would be safe
I actually thought this too at first but thinking about the timeline I'm pretty certain the character you're thinking of is that kid's son (unless they age him up a little bit but he should be ten during the events of season two)
Well done for catching that Otto is working with Mysaria (the White Worm). Keep an eye on her. This was the episode that turned me off Rhaenyra initially although future events brought me back to her side. That's the thing with this series, the characters are complex and you'll find yourself torn from one to the other. It's very well written and acted. Get ready for time jumps though haha
Rhaenyra this episode be like "How dare you accuse me of something I almost did 😠 who tf told you 😠"
Alicent this episode be like "How dare you lose your virginity to your uncle 😠 you were supposed to lose it to your stepmother instead 😠"
SPOILERS FOR LATER IN THE SEASON BELOW
And although I agree that the romantic angle is very much something that is intended to be up to the viewers to read into this relationship or not as they see fit... Certain things later on in the season make a lot more sense if you *do* read a romantic angle into it. Who holds onto something their best-friend-turned-enemy gave them for twenty years if "best friend" was all they were to them?
Uncle taking out his niece on the night of adventure...ah, Targaryens xD... cmon, it's not like they are siblings or something
Does anyone know if she provides the video for Patreon or do I have to sync up mine with hers?
You understand wrong. Daemon actualy did have sex with Raenyra(according of course how it is shown in the show). He just did not finish the job.
And if he thinks she was being disgustingly used as a pawn by Otto then why keep using her that way? that's without touching on a lot of things but the narrative that Viserys was bamboozled and clueless makes about zero sense
This whole brothel thing and the lies that come with it have insanely far-reaching consequences when you think of it like it put a real dent into everyone's trust, it's when one side decided that doubling down was gonna be the only thing they do and it's the sole reason Rhaenyra was "forced" to marry someone she didn't initially pick.
(the script confirms that that's all it took)
And although making Alicent seem entirely more sinister than she is is a very prominent and persistent trend i do appreciate that it hasn't happened once during those 4 reactions so far. Either way i've been enjoying hearing your thoughts, looking forward to the rest of the season ! Take care 💕
He is coming
A good video that really shows how much dumb decisions they made and things they skipped is this one.

@@stephenjenkins7971 she literally could just not say anything or confront her or make it her business at all if Rheanyra fucks daemon. it's literally none of her business.
@@mathmexican4234 She's the Queen, genius. She's quite literally making marriage plans for her. Next you'll say that Viserys could just not say anything about her business too -Blackcels are seriously annoying in their hypocrisy.
agreed. She knows where Alicents loyalties lay.
@@stephenjenkins7971 shes not her mother, and queen is meaningless while a King exists anyways. Viserys is her father and named her heir. He has justifications for caring about her actions. Good try tho.

Literally all of Rhaenyras decisions bring her consequences, and she keeps making them. Always dumb decisions.
Be ready
Have you read the books?
She hasnts
Looking fine, Sofie!
I like to think Rhaenyra, did not drink the portion which could make her first born a interesting situation...
I think this and the next are 2 worst eps. And still aren’t totally bad. But the beginning and the last couple eps are sooooo great. Can’t wait!

Daemon groomed his niece gross!
so did daenerys !!
what i don't like about Rhaenyra is that she basically does not care what damage she does. She just seduced Cole into violating his oath.
She was initiating the acting on it. the horny ep!
Reminder that rhaenyra is a minor in this scene and you all are finding it normal 😂 \\\ As well you’re finding normal the fact that she played with criston and that criston said NO at first which is what we call RAPE
She wasn't a minor and she definitely took advantage of Sir Cristin. Could easily be seen as a power of position rape.
@@joshhutton9534 There's an interesting grey area between 'power-of-position rape' and simple 'persuasion/persistence', isn't there? I wonder how many happily-married-with-no-regrets women said 'no' more than once to their future husbands, either because they took some persuading, and/or because they were consciously 'shit-testing' him to see how serious he was?
@@MrHws5mp very different situations. A husband doesn't hold a position of power over his wife unless you believe that the man is the boss in a marriage.
