I have the ring doorbell and don’t like that I miss motion alert at times and that’s after I enhance my settings. My son has blink with the sync module. He bought on sale as a package deal on Amazon for $56 so he didn’t pay extra for the module as you mentioned. He loves it and I didn’t see a huge difference in the camera quality from my Ring. I’m thinking about switching to Blink due to the fact Ring just increased their annual subscription to $50 just to save videos etc. Blink’s sync module does this and there’s no subscription with it. Also the battery life is awful with Ring. It’s chargeable but doesn’t last long. And you have to change certain settings just to save battery life. Blink uses AA batteries but they last longer than Ring’s chargeable battery.
So did you have the trouble we going through with Ring, Where the motion detection goes off all day long, when it's really just a car driving past, too the point that there are times it will not pick up people?

I have two blink outdoor camera cameras, and blink doorbell. I have the Blink subscription plan, for $10 a month, that covers all three cameras. Had it for going on three years, has worked great. Just wish the cameras had a clearer picture, they can't even read a license plate clearly
The problem with blink is that the app takes sooo long to open, it makes it useless when someone rings the doorbell, by the time you open the app they're gone. No wonder that have a 2 star review on the app/play store I'll be switching to ring soon
I have the same experience. Yesterday, my son rang the bell and was outside over 1 min. I was not notified at all. I got the video notification 10 mins later after I opened the app.
My two blink cameras in the back and on the side of my house has not been changed over 30 months, the camera in the driveway was changed about 18 months

I have read reviews that, altho Blink does have the "Store Videos Locally" feature (at an extra one-time purchase of a separate device), it also constantly tries to Up-Sell you to the Subscription Cloud service. The reviewer took off a point because he thought that was annoying. Has anybody else had this experience, and felt it was annoying?

It has to do with your internet connection and how far they are from your router or if you have a mesh system.

Ok... I need to say I was expecting something more interesting than "oh, there is a subscription" to make you regret.
