I watched this how to video twice and it gave me the courage to try to replace the carriage on my model 2026 belt driven overhead door garage door opener. I bought the replacement part from my local overhead door company for $25 and followed what I had seen in the video. It turned out to be even easier than the video in that I did not have to remove the part than hold the pulley from the wall. I was done in about 45 minutes and it worked perfectly. When a DIY project goes right the first time, it's a high. Thanks for the excellent guidance.
Thank you. I bought the new carriage slide over a year ago and didn't know where to start. Your video is excellent. I will get this done and come back with another thank you.
Thank you. Took me a while to find what I needed to understand why the latch wasn't re-engaging, and despite me having a different model (GenieProMAX and channel style), I am back in business thanks to this video. I needed to see the carriage exposed and what the basic mechanism is. Turned out, it was nothing more than the fact that the carriage was SO FAR AWAY from the latch. You just saved me an on-site service fee and potentially an unnecessary new motor.
This video was very helpful for me with replacing the carriage slide. This videos give me lot of information I needed on how to remove and install new carriage slide.
Thank you for doing and posting this video. I bought the part but when I got the part I had no idea how to go about doing this. There was no instruction with the replacement part! (from the mfg!!) This video made it sooooo easy to do this. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thanks for the video, this is exactly the same procedure for the Genie Pro 1024, the instructions that come with the replacement part are essentially garbage. Just do what Kenic AM Productions did and you'll be done with the repair in 30 mins or less.
There is a master link that you can disconnect, so that you can un-loop the belt. I think you can find this link and try disconnecting to un-loop the belt. Sorry, mine was a chain drive, but there seems to be more videos out there for belt drive also. I hope it works!
The chains last link has a hole that will link to the carriage slide, and this last link should have a c clip that comes off from the link itself. This c clip should allow you to engage and disengage the last link to the carriage slide.
Lowest I was quoted was 150.00, but they had to order the parts. I would have used them if they could see me today. The higest was 234.00.. hah! Part was 35.00...
Usually, you can find them from your local garage door shops. Go ask them. Many cases, online shopping site show out-of-stock on these carriage slides.
Yeah, I think my neighbor lady wrecked her carriage slide or belt. Her: Garage opener does not work Me: Noticing the lock bar is pulled out (baring across the main garage door roller track) Her: Can you fix it? Me: ......you know your lock bar slide is engaged? Her: ? Me: Lock bar? did you try to open your garage door with the lock bar pulled out? Her: ? Me: ? Her : I dunno
Thanks for putting up this video! Extremely helpful! Couldn’t find ANY other video showing info about this particular slide carriage.

Thank you so much for this video! This saved me bit of confusion, and I went off your Instructions.
Have a guud week!
Good video! This method also works for Genie model 2022, chain drive. This way is easier than the instructions they provide

Thank you! Mine broke yesterday and I have a replacement part coming in tomorrow now that I know what I'm doing!

Well done. Good video, thank yoy
Super helpful. Thank you!!
Hi. Your video is very helpful. I cannot find the parts. It all says discontinued. Do you have any idea where I can find it 9or order from?
I got it at local garage door dealer, not online. You can try contacting your local garage door dealers also.
How do you engage the carrier slide to the chain link?
The chains last link has a hole that will link to the carriage slide, and this last link should have a c clip that comes off from the link itself. This c clip should allow you to engage and disengage the last link to the carriage slide.
My garage door closes perfectly but taking forver to close with full force set on the motor. Do you think my carriage is bad to close the door faster?
I don't think this carriage slide has anything to do with speed of the garage shutter. Just my opinion.
great job, thank you!
How much does this type of job run? Thinking wether to pay or do it myself, thanks for the video!

that looks like the chintziest opener I've ever seen. However, that door sure doesn't sound very healthy either.
A OK!
Genie offbrand LMAOOO
Worst job done. Such noisy you need lubricant on the rail and roller and folding connections. I will not pay you the work done like that. hahaha
