Love Necessary Discrepancy, espeically considering that it basically tells Ramlethal's entire story. Effectively an emotionless android created by her creator to help them end the world. She eventually learns about emotions and determines that she is not just a tool and is a unique person, and then breaks free from her creator's will. There's definitely a lot of symbolism in the song to convey these themes.
The language in the first bit of the song is Esperanto, which is an type of constructed language meant for international communication, this language is also used for a lot of her moves. A lot of Guilty Gear characters have moves named in other languages, which usually indicate their place of origin so it's kinda cool that Ram's language is an artificial one without a single place of origin.
I'm somewhat familiar with Esperanto, so that's super cool! Thanks for all this backstory--seems like a really interesting character. And of course, the song was amazing too. :D
Also Esperanto was created as a language to unite Humanity. This is really connects with Ramlethal's story and motivation
So the message of this song as i see it is the things dont need to be all that perfect, not all the actions should be logical and serving some kind of purpuse, these little imperfections is what truly make life so presious, so they are..the necessary discrepancy
I dig it.
I've seen people discuss the meaning of the song already but here's how I interpret the song.
The begining is Ram being "born"/created and her mother telling her what to think about humanity. Her "mom" is telling her that the history of humanity/earth is strife with war and how Ram has to help her destroy humanity.
However as time goes on you can see Ram's character growth and how she learns that the world is more than what her mother told her. While there is strife and war and saddness there is love, courage, sincerity(Hear and heart). In order for humanity to exist you must accept that there is a dark side to them, yet that only makes the heart even more beautiful, a nessecary discrepency.
Love the dream theater comparisons. One of my favorite bands and one of my favorite character themes. Your commentary and insight is great, keep it up!
Thanks so much!!! I can't wait for the new DT album with Mike Portnoy coming back on!
@@RightManWrongPlace Right there with you, so stoked Port Portnoy is back. Can't wait to hear what they come up with now
Ramlethal Valentines theme in this game contains a motif that is taken from her theme in Xrd, which in turn was taken from the theme of a character simply callrd Valentine who was the antagonist in Guilty Gear 2: Overture. That themes motif is also used in the Xrd theme of Elphelt Valentine, aka Ramlethals sister, and THEN in Strive when they recently added Elphelt as DLC the motif appeared AGAIN, possibly for the final time, and going from its first appearance in Overture all the way to the last seconds of Elphelts theme, it goes from serious to emotionally dark to emotionally triumphant and like the end of a saga, the story of the Valentines is truly a saga in this series. You should definently listen to Elphelts Strive theme "Extras" too cuz I'd say these 2 songs go pretty hand in hand. "Diva" from Overture and "Diva of Despair" and "Marionette" from Xrd would also be cool to listen to if you really wanna hear the motif in every place where it is
I love how insanely complicated this is. Hahaha
The "Necessary Discrepancy" is one of the recurring themes of the Strive soundtrack, actually. This song mentions "a clean page is a blank page ... a black page is a blank page"; another example is in Bedman?'s theme, "The Circle," which includes the line "pitch black, pure white, all the same" (there are a few other examples, as well). But the idea is that darkness and light are each defined by the other - to use the example in this song, a white piece of paper and a black piece of paper are equally devoid of meaning, but black markings on a white page (or vice versa) can be seen and interpreted.
Well I definitely agree with those principles, so that's incredibly cool. Thank you!
Yay! More Strive!
I think I have another request or two from this game coming up soon. :D
@@RightManWrongPlace LETS GOOO
Daisuke Ishiwatari is the composer/guitar player/writer,game designer, character designer bla bla
Naoki is the male singer
Aisha is the female singer
That goes for all the songs except Elphelt's theme. Molly sings that one
I'll try to remember this!!! Thank you so much!
Jazz organ? I have nostalgia for whatever that is from playing God Hand as a kid but never knew what that was
I came to call them casino keys or smth
Somebody corrected me on a reaction I did months ago, and I forgot the correction and went right back to calling it a jazz organ. :D
