I like those little interjections (or whatever you’d call them) of hers too. I’m pretty sure those were her knowing something was off, but at the time not knowing/confronting what it was. Like “Whatever this is feels bad, like the taste of vegetables. Maybe I’m stressed, or maybe it’s just this stupid alarm clock.”

That's a cool way to consider those comments. I just laughed about it at the time, but I think you're onto something!

    Anchor girl is May 😉
And yeah, you're right, Bridget is a girl, and uses she/her pronouns.
Like you could kinda gather from the lyrics and what you recalled of her backstory, this song is kinda about her becoming confident in her identity as a girl.
Her background is a bit wild in part cause you couldn't really do a straightforward story about a character who's trans back in the day- but yeah, Bridget was born as the younger of identical twins in a town where this was considered an omen of great misfortune.
As a result, she was raised to outwardly "pretend" to be a girl, so she and her older brother wouldn't be seen as identical twins.
Her parents felt horrible about having to put their "son" through something like that, but Bridget was actually perfectly happy living as a girl. However, even when she tried to assure her parents that she was fine, they believed that she was only putting on a brave face, and felt even worse for it.
Bridget thus figured the only way to please her parents would be to freely present as male, like they wished she could- so she'd have to disprove the town's superstitions.
She left home and became a bounty hunter, in order to earn lots if money, thus showing she could actually bring good fortune- this was her status quo back in the day.
Since then, Bridget actually achieved her goal and earned enough money for her town to dispel any fears about identical twins, and thus she was free to live as a man now. But, this was not making her happy, and she kinda distanced herself from her home.
This song is about her mulling over her feelings- its clear being a girl makes her happy, but she can't bring herself to confront this. Cause now she doesn't know how her community will react if she still intends to live as a girl despite everything.
As the song goes on, the instrumentation gets more powerful, and the "I'm the one to blame" lyric becomes more faint, showing Bridget gaining confidence.
After having the opportunity to really talk about her feelings with people who can empathize with her situation, she eventually she decides to live as who she is, even if potentially being rejected by her home town is scary.

I find it really funny that one the people giving her a good advise on her situation is Goldlewis Dickinson, lmao.

@@RuzPav Well he implies he's in a similar situation where he's had to leave his family- a common interpretation is that he could also be queer, but it's not been specified

Hello, in case you're looking for more recommendations for Guilty Gear music, then you should listen to Let Me Carve Your Way (Zato-1's theme) next. It's really good, trust me
