    THIS IS THE QUALITY OF INFO/VIDEO I WANT when I google "How to" or "What is" about something! Please just make videos for everything from now on because less than 4 minutes and I feel like a freaking expert, thank you.

    This is a nice and quick high-level tutorial, but you completely glossed over the fact that you really need to have your ports mapped to be assured that SC will function correctly. If you start up SC and see "port: not mapped", you could have issues during the session (which is not something you want to have with a paying client on the other end). What you should see is "port: open" - and then you'll be all set. With regards to the minimum speed required by SC, it's 300 kbps up and down. Which even the slowest DSL will be able to achieve without blinking.

    The tech support from Source-Elements is amazing! It's Sunday afternoon here in Florida, I had a question and they responded within an hour or so. Great products and people!

    My first directed live session was for my great client "TH-cam". I recorded the Arabic campaign for TH-cam Premium and TH-cam Musice Premium through directed session! but actually this was on "Session LinkPro" not "source connect". I was so admire of this technology! :"D
    I tried "Source connect" with a client to make a test and for sure it's so professional.
    Thanks voices for this video 💖

    Thanks for the video! Is there any way to use source connect just so the client can direct. I always clean up my audio before I send it as I struggle with some mouth noise here and there, no matter how well hydrated I am. I don't want clients to have to deal with this.

    • @voices
      @voices  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You sure can! A lot of talent will record on their end, even if the client is recording the feed on their end. It's always nice having a backup incase there's a glitch in the signal. You can use SourceConnect to communicate directly in your DAW -Randy

    Question,
    I have a Townsend Sphere L22 (UAD Modeling Mic). The mic sends a stereo signal, so is there special routing for Source-Connect or would it be the same as any other mic? I have to record stereo tracks in Logic Pro, so I'm wondering If Source-Connect has to be set up to receive a stereo signal. I didn't see an option for stereo in the Source-Connect input menu.
    Thank You
    Jason CL Pittman

    • @voices
      @voices  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Don't think there is a special routing, but SC should support that and you should be able to send stereo!

      @@voices You nailed it! Thank you, from what you sent me - Multi-Channel Devices
      IMPORTANT: Working with multi-channel audio devices means that you must have your
      input/microphone signal in Channel 1 of your device for Mono, and Channel 1 & 2 in your
      device for Stereo. Source-Connect only listens to channels 1 and 2.

  • @Allthatwethink

    With using Source Connect is there a camera aspect where the client can see you? Or can they only hear you?

    • @voices
      @voices  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Source Connect is only for audio. Some users use Zoom or FaceTime if they wanted to see each other during a session but still use Source Connect to get the best audio quality.

    Im new to VO... but why does everyone mention equipment, programs, acoustics etc... but never once address what internet is required?
    It seems that so many assume we all have fiber optic DSL or something.
    It honestly seems like people purposely avoid the subject... why?

    • @voices
      @voices  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most software that use internet usually does specify the minimum requirements. For Source Connect, their website says "Minimum bandwidth of 300kbps upload and download."
      But of course, having a better and faster internet will have an improved performance/experience while using the program. So it's up to the user whether or not they want to invest in their internet provider.

    • @cbrown6848
      @cbrown6848 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@voices that may be... but it also leaves out the fact that internet can be geographically inclined and not a personal choice... in other words... not everyone lives in silicon valley or a tech hub.
      Therefore, restrictions such as internet speed potentially can leave out a lot of otherwise talented people

    • @cbrown6848
      @cbrown6848 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@voices and the specification of something has 0 to do with availability... in other words, VO technology would be wise to increase availability to the potential millions of talented people that may not live in downtown NY.

    Looks that not optimal for dubbing against video.

    • @voices
      @voices  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I wonder! I've never considered people dubbing remote. That must present some serious challenges with latency -Randy

    • @toma1610
      @toma1610 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@voices, however SessionLink Pro is broadly used. The artist just just receive a Link and that it, you just make settings to enable your microphone and headphones, thats all. They send you a link like zoom style. You log in and they stream you the video and the text to read in sync, but of course you need an optimal high speed connection to the internet.
      Source connect has a tool for that, I saw a video when dubbing a song, instrumental playback a singing over, dubbing works in the sane way, but the issue ios that the client side (artist) must have at least the cheaper version and install a software.
      In SessionLink you receive a link and that‘s it, you don‘t pay nothing. Do you make dubbing?
