yes, somewhere along the way his sense of style left him. He looks ridiculous now with his shirttails hanging out, and that stupid fedora that never leaves his head - even though, as you can see here, he was not the Monkee that went bald.
Why Mickey Dolenz is such a wonderful person. I saw Head on the big screen three years ago in Arlington Massachusetts. Mickey was there to do a meet and greet and give a lecture on the movie He was so kind and nice.
Wonder why Mickey Dolenz said he wasn’t getting jobs as an actor. As a voice actor he did a lot of voice acting including funky phantom. He did Adam 12 and Cannon in the 70s.
He was too recognizable as himself. They used their actual names in the show (big mistake for an actor) and that made it confusing and difficult for casting directors to know what to do with him.
I'm seeing feeling such disappointment when I contemplated on Conan O'Brien cussing out George D. Dolenz Jr. Even though Conan O'Brien interviewed George Mickey Dolenz Jr, back then in 1993. Especially before 2010. 😞 😕 😔 😪
The Monkeys had the GREATEST MODERN SONGWRITER WRITING HITS NEIL DIAMOND THE LEGENDARY SINGER SONGWRITER OF OUR MODERN TIMES BECAUSE NEIL DIAMOND AGREES king DAVID of Israel was the Greatest of all times at singer songwriter because DAVID PLAYED FOR SAUL! And Saul was mad for DAVIDS SONG!
2 & 1/2 years ago ago I saw the awful "White Album 50th Anniversary Tour" with Dolenz, Todd Rundgren, Joey Molland of Badfinger, Christopher Cross and some other guy I don't even know. Cross and Molland were excellent as was Rundgren's guitar playing (but not his singing or clowning and stupid costumes). Dolenz was, long ago, an ok singer but now he can only shout and bark. He also thinks that he's a comedian; he's not. He had the gall to introduce songs that The Monkees did as "Here's one that Neil Diamond wrote for me", Here's one that Carole King wrote for me' etc. None of them were written for him or that group. They were songs that the record company's A&R man found and told them to sing. To me, Dolenz will always be "Circus Boy". It was one of the worst shows I've ever seen.
Micky was a great singer back in the day, but he needs to hang it up. His over the top comedy has not worn well - for starters, he needs new material. I've heard his "Leonard Nimoy becoming a Vulcan" joke more times than I can count. And he looks ridiculous now, with a stupid bowler on his head.
Goodness gracious, his voice sounds the same in 93 as it did in 66. Really good job here, Mick.
one of the best singers of all time
Micky's hair and personal style was very stylish at this point in his career. Very hip and "now" for 1993.

Always been my favorite monkee. Great smile, wonderful voice.
Great interview and song! And he is STILL touring! And Conan is touring....the world.
Micky Dolenz is still awesome. Great voice and charm!
Mickey sounded great on I'm a Believer and The Max Weinberg 7 rocked backing him up.
the first thing micky says in this interview being ‘I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE DAVY IS’ is absolutely perfect oh my god i love him
Amazing!! Micky kicks ass here!! Triple threat: looks, personality and talent!! RIP DAVY, MIKE AND PETER

Unbelievable in this live performance Mickey was, sounded just like the record...oh my , it Takes me back in 1966 and 67.
This band nailed this! everything. the right sound and harmonies. Real pros...
micky rocked it
Oh my gosh, I'm a huge fan of both Conan and The Monkees. How did I not know this existed?
I can't believe that was 30 years ago OMG.
Such a relief when i miss my VHS tapes, I can come to youtube and watch everyone elses.
"We want Davy..." funny story! 😂😂😂
Thank you for putting this up!!! :)
Dang, the band is really on point.
The best " bubble gum" pop song ever written. Great!
Great set of pipes on Micky!
Wow micky is incredible
Nobody mentioned he said I saw her face now I'm retiever
@Kimberly Martin I get it too. Mickey Dolenz is not only extremely talented, he’s also very intelligent. High I.Q.

That bass player is kickin'
He's correct about Hendrix. While he was playing the crowd booed him. The Monkees new that Hendrix would be huge.
thanks for assuring us that the guy who was there is correct about that
Pretty damn good imo
If jimi was the best guitarist in the world then the monkees must be the best band in the world
Sweetheart micky 😍
I could see why he's a creator

William Shatner tried to break free of the Captain Kirk mold but it'd still be at the top of his obituary..

Mickey was a little too good on the Monkees and ended up typecasting himself.

So, you're not a fan?
@@jtoland2333 Nothing gets by you, huh?
@@robertcatesby8420 No. But it looks like my sarcasm might've gotten by you. ;)

Stop projecting.
