- Standing 208 feet (63.4m) tall, with a 116° drop off the elevator lift and reaching speeds up to 70 mph (112.5 km/h), this in-house built custom steel looping coaster features an Immelmann, a dive loop, an over-banked curve and two back-to-back heartline rolls in opposing directions that the park calls the Lagoon Roll.
This video varies slightly from what riders experience in that the lights were turned on in the tower in order to show when the car begins its accent on the elevator, although the tilting still occurs in the dark.

They have made the theming so much better since this video came out: the elevator has since been shrouded in darkness and the whole beginning of the ride is just darkness. It adds to the intensity that you’re meant to be feeling as you go up.
If ur an actual enthusiast imagining a good coaster design is not hard it’s just the engineering and safety with the planning

I remember my first time riding cannibal and that was the most intimidating part but the actual ride is sooo fun! I love this ride and yeah the beginning is suspenseful and a lot bigger and scarier than it looks on video but it’s so fun and an awesome coaster!

Went to Lagoon last year with my bride. Road this baby at least five times, she is easily the best roller coaster I've ever ridden. Found out she was designed by the park owners, people who have been themepark enthusiasts their whole lives. It definitely shows.

I'm really late to reply to this but I'm sure there are safety mechanisms that won't let the train move forward until the tracks are perfectly aligned.

I absolutely love this coaster and I make sure to ride it every time I visit Lagoon! I’m so glad that Lagoon is getting more attention because of Cannibal.

Yesterday I rode this ride 51 times consecutively. It took eight hours on a not busy day. I rode 26 miles of track and walked 12 miles. I spent 2.5 hours in a moving coaster and probably as long in a still one. This is an absolutely amazing ride.

Okay so I live in Salt Lake City and I was TERRIFED to ride this- but now it’s my favourite ride in the park. It’s super smooth and the views are absolutely stunning at night. I would recommend it to anyone! :)

Rode this awhile back, ever since then, my friend and I look at roller coasters and just refuse to get on them, looking at the Cannibal makes us feel old, like it took 5 years off of our lives or something. Just don't feel excited about those rides anymore, the ride legit chewed us up and spat us out. Worth it.
I remember when I first rode this... I loved it so much after getting off I promptly rode it another 5 times.
This ride is nutty, especially that wonky "Lagoon" Roll.
A shining achievement of Lagoon's ability to design in-house :D

I remember riding this for the first time. I had never been on something so intense and wasn’t ready. By the end I was seeing stars. Scary but in a good way. I rode it two more times that day.

I live in Utah and rode this coaster when it first opened last summer. I ended up in the front row at night once. I loved it going down that first drop.
Rode it for the first time last Saturday. Also front row but in the morning. I screamed so much I lost my voice for awhile after. lol

+liljdub08 This video was taken before the theming in the station and lift was completed. Some other videos show what it is like after it had been finished, but the lift area is also very dark and hard to see in it.
+liljdub08 the lift has music playing up on the way to the top and it is completly dark, the ride was filmed before the park was open so they had all the music shut off.

as a local in utah i can confirm this ride is yet terrifying yet fun at the same time the feeling at the top makes you regret coming out of the womb overall very fun!!
To everyone saying this looks scary: It is, but only your first few times on it. After you go on it a couple of times your adrenaline gets going & you want to keep coming back to the ride. BEST RIDE EVER!

I love how even though it's only the 4th steepest drop in the world it's the highest drop out of the beyond vertical coasters.

Went two days ago, the darkness of the elevator ride makes it memorable, the suspense. Its actually pretty quick after that. I wouldn't take kids on it unless I was certain they could handle it.
i used to work at lagoon:) a little tip: when it’s going up the elevator, if the tracks don’t align PERFECTLY, then the whole thing will derail. that’s why the close it down every couple of hours

1:21 I’ve been on a ride with a drop like this and it was the most scary feeling in my life. It feels like you’re about to fall out of the ride to your death for about 3 seconds and I couldn’t breath from the rush of anxiety. It felt like the whole seat would fall forwards off of the ride.

I went on this ride a few years ago and i can confidently say the elevator and then the straight drop are the best parts cause you can feel you stomach rise and then the twists and turns are so fun, i went on to ride this almost my whole time there

It's more like a double-sided pulley system that lift on both sides, with extra coaster track because over-engineering is needed when you're throwing people around at 200 feet in the air.
rcfreakeagle actually it doesnt lift the car on both sides of it. the car is only attached to one side the left or the right. ive been on it when the shudders above stayed opened. also the car rocks side to side while going up. the shaft has two elevators which switch between coaster cars. so if my car was on th right elevator the car behind me will be on the left because while the right is going back down the car behind me is already on the move.
Whenever you tell me I’m pretty that’s when the hunger really hits me
