For the clapping part during Melt's performance, yes, it’s a cultural thing. It’s considered rude to be boisterous in your praise when watching a play or even a movie, as it could be seen as a bother to the actors and the audience. so you won't have people cheering or screaming in japan when watching something even if they loved it.
I figured as much based on other things I've seen/heard... Thanks for verifying! For the US, there are theater/stage moments to keep applause at a medium level, but moments like that would be expected to get as loud of a reaction as possible.
I cannot even imagine how great the "moment to shine" from Akane, Aqua and Kana will be, seeing how they cooked so hard for Melt 🤯 this season is gonna be incredible

I had high expectations for this episode for the content it was covering and with how episode 6 was last season and it blew my expectations out of the water that added sequence of the very cartoonish artstyle when he is living the easy life living his life off its looks and going with the flow to the shift to the more to the normal more "realistic" style when he starts working to get over his falts and then starts chasseing the star it was so good. Cant wait for next week especially sense unless they add some parts out ill be anime only agien for at least the last third this arc has been so good.
Yeah, Kamoshida is still a Creep for what he was trying to do with Ruby and her friend. Melt grew a lot since s1, he is so polite and hard working, this episode just made him my fav side character. The middle school thing was oddly relatable and depressing... It really seemed that he was never the same after that.
This episode cooked, Melt finally got his redemption for his performance in Go Sweet. I was so happy for him and the animation was incredible when they showed his emotions. Even I went silent when his character fell to the ground

The entire episode was made just for Melt himself. The fighting animations in this episode is great for a show that wasnt even about battle shonens.
