How To: Enable or Disable MMS Auto Retrieve on Android | Fix Delayed Texts

- Enable or Disable the Auto Retrieve or Download MMS option to fix delays in receiving MMS Picture or Text Messages
This work on Straight Talk or any other carrier, both SMS and MMS (Picture or Multimedia Messages), we're going to show you two settings where you can review.
First, we're going to make sure that the Messages APP is configured to auto-download or retrieve the Multimedia Messages (MMS) as soon as they are recieve. For this, you go to the Messages app, Settings, Advanced, and you will see the Auto-Download option, enabled that
Second setting we are going to check is the Battery Optimization Settings, sometimes the phone disables some of the services just to save some battery live, we want to make sure the messaging is not under this situation
For this, go into the Battery Optimization Settings, Select the Messaging app and make sure it is not included in the list, we want to Allow this app to run on every moment, even though it is going to consume the battery faster - to be honest, this doesnt make much difference, you may lose a few minutes of battery life.
These solutions will also fix the very common issue of people not able to send or receive picture messages on Straight Talk or any other carrier. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

Awesome! I have a Samsung s20FE and I followed your step to battery settings. In there, a setting called "Enhanced Battery settings" was off. Turned it on.....working great now. I couldn't send pics through messenger before. Thanks for the help! 👍🏻
My phone would respond to a MMS text with a download button which would do nothing when clicked. Looked for a solution everywhere but nothing worked, till I tried your battery saving tip and it worked! I still get the download button, but now it actually downloads pics. Thanks so much!

I am on redmi k20 . My message app automatically opens whenever I receive any messages of any sort. Even when I am watching TH-cam it closes the TH-cam app and opens the message app. It is really disturbing .can you fix this?

Hi, I would recommend downloading Textra SMS, once you install it, it will ask you to set it up as default messagign app. In the App, go to Menu, Settings, in the Sendind section, you willl see something call Send Delay, and you can set from 1 to 9 seconds. so you have enough time to cancel it

Usually I receive and see my text messages right away. I think this happens when my phone is already on.
Other times, my phone will be off and I will turn it on and check my text messages and I will see, "Tap to download text message". The time stamp of the text message alert will be the current time (for example, if my phone was off for two days, and I turn it on at 10:30 a.m., the text message time stamp will be 10:30 a.m.). But I'm sure the sender sent the text message hours or days before.
But when I tap to download the text message, I don't see anything. ☹
So I am guessing that the phone company deleted the message on its server while my phone is off?
Is that possible? 🤔But why would the phone company delete a few words of text that takes up practically zero space on their server?!
