Thanks for swinging by and watching this huge episode covering the first bunch of Spidey’s console game history! Next episode will be covering the 2002 Spider-Man game based on the Sam Raimi movie.
You missed Spider-Man & the X-men on super Nintendo & sega genesis! Please add this in the next one. That was a classic & was really hoping to see it in this video
@johnplemmons5075 No, I purposely left that one until I cover the X-Men games as it’s more of an X-Men adventure with Spider-Man along for the ride, won’t be long until I cover the X-Men 🙂
I grew up with Spider-Man's 90's show, but it was the PS1 games that really got me into Webhead, superheroes and comics. This video made me want to play them all over again and also showed me ones I didn't know about, like Web of Fire and Kingpin. Great stuff!
I don’t cover classic home computer games simply due to their difficultly to get hold of today, the huge number of them coupled with very archaic designs. I mainly just want to stick to console gaming and PC exclusives. So that leaves out mobile as well 😂 but thanks for the recommendation
I remember playing Spider-Man The Movie games for PS2 & Xbox, great times great times! Now, with Spider-Man 2 on the way, I'm hype. I still play the classics from Game boy, NES, SNES, PS, and Xbox, Spider-Man for PS4 & Spider-Man Miles Morales! Out of all the Marvel video games Spider-Man is one of the best.
Hey dude im really excited for this series now because you are talking vout every single game without falter i love seeing all the handheld games getting talked about
Dude Spider-Man 2000 is one of the first games I played as a kid on my parents’ “home computer.” It was easily my favorite, even though I was basically a toddler playing it. I never managed to beat the Mysterio level, and I’ve always wanted to be able to take another go at playing it. I still have my original game disc, but any modern computer I’ve had won’t run it lol. I’m sure I could emulate it, but I don’t have a pc at the moment and will have to wait. In the mean time, this video was a nice way to reminisce!
Gosh, this is a lot of Spiderman; two whole decades worth in a singular video. Off the top of my head, I've experienced at least two of the games within that time frame, maybe a 3rd or 4th. 1:26 - Ah yes, the Spider Sense, a conveniently specific interpretation of a spider's sound detecting capability. Glad it only acts up for Spider Man when specifically "danger" is about. 2:36 - Given the capabilities of the time, a tower climbing game seemed a perfect way to showcase as many of Spider-Man's unique spider characteristics as possible. I like the "cute the web" and "stop falling by shooting a new web" mechanic to it. 4:02 - So how does Spiderman shoot a web? I assume A is jump (and swing is double jump, so double A) and B is kick, so is shoot web the Select button? It seems to properly realise Spiderman in a game you'd need at least three buttons. 12:31 - I think it was only known as "Spiderman" in PAL territories, but this was the first Spiderman game I played (Mega Drive version). It was a lot of fun, though I think child me only got past the first three levels. I remember that Venom was an optional boss you could find in the sewer level. 13:49 - I missed a chance recently to buy this Game Gear version... not that I currently own a Game Gear. £120 is a lot to spend on a handheld that might need another couple hundred to fix up if it's capacitors are gone. 17:13 - Interesting to hear about the difficulty decrease given to the Master System and Game Gear versions. 18:51 - Are you sure Morbius is lesser known nowadays? He has had a rather infamous movie. 22:30 - 2 player could be quite the game changer. Even a mediocre game can be elevated when you can enjoy it with a friend or sibling. 26:11 - "By the number?" Interesting to hear given this game seems to return to Spiderman vs the Kingpin's more distinctive formula of how a Spiderman game should play, with larger levels and plenty of wall climbing. 30:33 - An now for the 2nd Spiderman game I experienced; loved this game. I played the PlayStation version but wouldn't mind owning it again for the Dreamcast. 35:38 - Strangely enough, not the first time Lizard and Venom shared a sewer level. Conveniently also, two of my favourite Spiderman characters. 41:33 - The Dreamcast version certainly looks lovely. It's not a huge upgrade but also still a noticeable improvement in a game that already looked decent. 46:10 - An this is the other Spiderman game I got experience, though I'm pretty sure I experienced it only through a demo. The inclusion of ground levels was a natural evolution for the game to take.
Great vid. The Nets need to pick a plan and stick to it. They are always going after the big names. Even if the player doesn't fit their team. Probably a 5th or 6th seed. With a lot of room to grow in 2024.
There was one game I think wasn’t in here that I know of. It was a 2D scroller one that I remember had levels of being on those red beams they use to build buildings during the day, and the game was played with a Spider-Man joystick. I played it I just don’t remember the name
@@DonCritic yeah I just looked up “Spider-Man Joystick” last night online and immediately found it haha. He might be the superhero with the most video games fr
100% in the future I plan to cover all Marvel games and all Street Fighter games and possibly the other Capcom franchises that are featured in the MvC series, such as Devil May Cry, Dead Rising, Darkstalkers and more. And then will also do the Capcom Vs SNK series and cover Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, King of Fighters etc. in the future 🙂
So glad you enjoyed it, Part 2 is almost finished! I don’t have a discord or social media accounts for the channel, only TH-cam 😄 maybe it’s something I could do in the future

Placing an enemy on the world trade center definitely aged well. 👍

My first spider-man game was the PS1 2000 game
Its a shame that this Video has so little Views and Likes. Its very well made and deserves more attention

You missed the Amiga / C64 “The Amazing Spider-Man” (1990). It’s a cool little puzzle game worth checking out if you haven’t played it before.

Great retrospective, and I'm looking forward to the next part. I've sadly never played the PS1 games, but they seem like great games.
Thanks Michael! Sadly they’re getting quite expensive the old Spider-Man games. Next part will be out very soon!

The Spider-man PS1 games are classics, along with Mysterio's Menace.
💯
I can't wait to see more of my childhood featured on this channel. Thanks again!
Happy to keep the content coming!
As per usual, great work!

Games featuring our favorite web-swinging hero! This should be fun, oh yes!
Enjoy!
Great video! I collected all the portable Spider Man games since that was what I was playing most at the time. Love them! 👌

Spider-Man has the best super hero games.👍
Wow thank you so much my friend!! He certainly does, my next episode will be out in the coming two days 😃
You forgot to mention the Tinkerer also appeared so he counts as a villain in Spider-Man 20 vs. 1
Spider-Man 2000 is one of the best PS1 games of all time!
Definitely!
I’ve been playing Spider-Man 2000 since I was 5 and I was today years old when I realized that Mary Jane is just a palette swap of Black Cat 🤯
Omg finally🔥🔥🔥🔥

There's no Spider-Man game like Insomniac's Spider-Man.
Didnt know that Monster Ock scared a lot of kids back then.
Ironic that the “Parker brothers” are the ones to make the first Spidey game loo
Haha I didn’t even think of that! 😂
Excelsior
Spider-Man
I have an idea for you why don't you also explain warhammer 40k games?
Working on it! My first Warhammer 40K episode will come out in September
