THANK YOU! I'm a patreon supporter for this kind of stuff. I love early weeknd.
One of my favourite Weeknd tracks. This whole trilogy album hit me so hard when I first heard it. Thanks for the reactions homies.
you should play him the whole mixtape, there should be something there he would like
EXACTLY
I don't think Trilogy is for Dad it's too dark and he clearly states on here that he's not a big fan of that. I think he would like The Weeknds Pop music more.
No, go straight to _Beauty Behind the Madness_ please 🙏
@@Man_eee tbh im a new follower so i dont know him that well yet, but i agree. if hes going to show any project id go for the newer projects
The Party & the After Party
It’s like 7 1/2 min long but keeps my attention
5:50 it’s cool how Kai & Dad start nodding to different tempos. they recognize different things as an old & new listener
The Party & the After Party
if you wanna stay with this era. It’s longer but the music and vocals keeps you more engaged and his voice matches the lyrics better 😂
Trilogy The Weeknd was peak The Weeknd for me.
Always loved his songs that have more depth to them, now it's all about making catchy dance songs. Which is sadly something nearly all R&B guys start doing.
First of all what R&B guys are out there right now...doing ANYTHING? And considering that the vast majority of R&B guys are black, you are basically chastising any of them for making music that garners mainstream appeal. Do you hold black female singers, or white guys or white women to that same standard? Sit down.
Secondly he has been consistently less confined to R&B.
@@Hibbs4Prez " And considering that the vast majority of R&B guys are black, you are basically chastising any of them for making music that garners mainstream appeal. Do you hold black female singers, or white guys or white women to that same standard? Sit down."
Why did you bring up race? Seems like a very racist thing to do. As it has nothing to do with this.
That's the problem, R&B guys constantly go in to shitty dance music because it makes more money generally. That's the whole point of my complaint lol.
Really House of Ballons for me😂
@@C3LSU I mean the songs are on trilogy.
i disagree Dawn FM has so much depth to it and its far from mainstream
You guys definitely need to do more of the weekend. The Birds would have been a good one!
One of his best hits for sure! Loveee The Weeknd!
Dad's comment about a deeper or rougher voice complimenting the sound better is very interesting. What made The Weeknd stand out so much when he first dropped really was the discordance between his falsetto, which has such a strong association with more sweet/pretty music, and the luridness of his lyrics along with the dark atmospheric music.
He just sounds like a sad, whiny, emo dude on his old stuff
@@Progressive.Gyou mean being emotional? Men are allowed to show their emotions even through music. I get it. Too real for some of yall 😂
@@angie-jo1mn naw it's just too corny and whiny
@@Progressive.Gnot liking a certain genre of music is cool but why go out ur way just hate on him. Weeknd and drake are the top 2 artists in the last decade. Ur opinion tells me majority ppl would probably not like ur music taste.
@@speedoflight589 What you said made no sense
When he said Mariah Carey, I’m not gonna lie I busted out laughing so hard, your dad is so cool
The Weekend - Call My Name
His voice as a break up song is everything!
I think The Weeknd’s vocals are sometimes underrated. I saw him live and his vocal tones sounded so clean. And your dads right about Eminem. It definitely has that vibe. And I think this song plays when he’s in the uncut gems
Dad is so innocent and authentic. I like Dad. Kai too but I mean in a Dad kinda way lol I respect The FrontRoom’s acknowledgement and appreciation of musicality and the highlighting of various components of a song 👌🏾👏🏾
hands down my favourite song by the weeknd. So much feels.
went through a few vids, this dude has extremely similar music taste as me lol
Glad to hear you enjoy the videos!
Kai
Been a minute since I’ve checked in the with you two. Glad to see things are still going well.
Absolutely love you guys man! A relaxing atmosphere and sooo chill. Could listen to it all day. Keep killing it guys 🔥👊🏼
Can wait for album reaction!!
He’ll probably like “Adorn” by Miguel. The song is so short that it leaves you wanting more.
Been waiting for you to react to the weeknd. Do it fully bro 👌🏾
Kai your father playing his invisible instruments always makes me smile. Protect this man
This album deserves a reaction!!!
Heartless, for dad! It's upbeat I can see him jamming!
High for this has really good production, and it's a great opener.
My fav Album from the Wknd! Very raw! One of the greatest voices of his generation.
Crew love. Natural progression
Great content from you guys as always!
this video really was ignored by the algorythm, don't stop! need more of these
I remember when I was watching this guy on TH-cam in 2011 who was talking about this song just coming out.. epic times. Was blown away with the sounds and voice.. this was before all TH-cam advertising !!!!!!!!!!!
Dad was spot on with the choruses delivery being stylistically similar to eminem, he has a great ear.
The whole mixtape is probably his best work, he does a Dirty Diana cover called D.D which is pretty good
Favorite artist ever
Loved this reaction! I would like to see your Dad react to more Bruno Mars. Doo wops and Hooligans or Unorthodox Jukebox are my two favourite albums of his.
Play for him king of the fall - the weekend 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🎸🎸🎸
The trilogy was such a good mixtape drop nobody knew who he was but the instruments and voice were so different but I prefer this compared to his new stuff
Surely it’s honestly perfection
i love the weekend and dad doesnt have to love all the songs and artists but i love the honesty maybe another weekend song will give him another chance
My favorite weeknd song ever. The reason why I love him now
The excitement I got when I found out y’all r reacting to my favorite artist ever
I absolutely loves the dad's reactions.
i hope we get more weeknd this was fun to watch
Looking at the shelf, Black On Both Sides!!! Do the whole album! I think your dad would love it.
TheWeeknd is amazing. His music is a narrative of his life.
IF U MAKE HIM LISTEN TO A WEEKND ALBUM MAKE SURE ITS AFTER HOURS. Id say thats the best way to capture the weeknds sound
Bro the weeknd old music is literally goated nothing can top it ! Show other songs this like one of his mildest songa
I think we’d all love to see a reaction of The Weeknd’s entire discography at some point!!!!!👀👀
Your dad may have a point..I think the deep voice he's looking for can be Giveon....him singing this song will also be pretty fire tbh
Giveon is a good pick. My ass was thinking about teddy pendergrass 😂 it would still be tight ngl
I think the Eminem chorus remark isn't actually that far fetched. I could see it. The piano in the background and parts of the beat actually have an 8 mile era Eminem vibe to them.
And the layering maybe ? Thing is their voice are nthg alike and one can actually sing so it's hard to compare. But I think I can kinda hear what he's hearing.
Glad my comment wasn’t totally out in left field! Thanks for watching. - Kai’s dad
Not out of left field at all.
Weekend - The hills remix ft Eminem. Check that out 👌
Love it. I think your dad will like so mac demarco for sure!
Love Trilogy…used to bumped this as a youngin so good!!!
Omg first time watching you and its my favourite artist
Love your content.. as an 80s baby. I just want to hear a few RnB classics reacted to:
Deele - Two Occasions
Maxwell - Ascension (dont ever wonder)
Sade - Kiss of Life
Tony Toni Tone - it never rains in Southern California
Aaliyah - Try again or One in a million
Toni Braxton- Unbreak my heart
Shai- If I ever Fall
Mint Condition - Pretty Brown Eyes
Luther Vandross - House is not a Home ( and possibly side by side with Jamie Foxx- Slow Jamz)
EDIT: also I would love love love.. to see some blue eyed soul. Bring me some Allen Stone or Teddy Swims. That would be amazing!
This is the first Weeknd song I’ve heard, when I was listening to the Southpaw soundtrack album, the second one was The Hills remix with Eminem. From there, I was convinced
The first time i heard his voice my jaw dropped! It really stood out!
Outside- The Weeknd
Weeknd 🔥 🔥 🔥
Great song
This is my favorite song by The Weeknd
Have your dad listen the the song after hours by weeknd . So amazing
After hours the song I think was one of the best on that album. That whole album is amazing though.
I wouldn't say I'm a "fan" of the weeknd like I dont really ever listen to his music but I honestly love all of his songs that I've heard. in my opinion his voice is just so godly
Wicked games is my favorite, and I love absolutely everything Abel has
Whole mixtape would be awesome!! Or maybe Dirty Diana. Or anything 🖤 XO
This is the coolest dad ever ngl. He is right to the bass line on this song is funky af.
I agree, this is his best work.
Man you HAVE to show your dad Sidewalks Ft. Kendrick the people need it
PLEASE PLEASEE go THROUGH THE WEEKND JOURNEY WITH YOUR DADD!!!!!!
This is when I was a fan. I’m a fan of this Weeknd.
You guys should listen to CREW LOVE with drake and the weekend
best song ever
Love this! Can you both react to MC Abdul " shouting out at the wall" ..he was 12 years old rapping about his life being in a war zone.. He is amazing! It's truly worth watching it.
Toronto represent! But I think they all inevitably move to Los Angeles for most of their career 😢
Yoo mariah killed this track mann fo shoo😂💀
Should've started with High For This from House of Balloons, The Intro into The Weeknd's world.
I think your Dad would love Starboy
Your dad was actually spot on about Eminem. You need to show him “The Hills remix.” Featuring Eminem.
YES!!!! He was spot on! You have to play him that track 🔥
No. Only the original. Who tf wants to hear an Eminem remix to the hills? The em fans be killing me 😂😂
@@TheIcemanthomas😂😂😂
I'd listen to it.@@TheIcemanthomas
What you need - The Weeknd
He makes the dark comfortably uncomfortable 🖤
Gotta show him take care and how the weeknd helped make it
Do the entire house of balloons please, i think your dad will really enjoy it.
you guys should react to more of his songs! i think he would like more of his upbeat songs cause his older songs are darker and really sexual although it is funny to see your dads reaction to them from the other songs he’s heard that featured the weeknd😆
I wish Michael Jackson was here to witness The Weeknd. Play DD by The Weekend but don’t tell Dad it’s the weekend. See if he thinks it’s Michael.
Fave album.
Maybe get him to listen to the party & the after party?
Great song
His reaction says it all
Weekend ‘Rollin stones’ , from the same album.❤
Also The Hills
Would love to see your dad’s thoughts on Camp Lo - Luchini
You should play 'Earned It' by The Weeknd form Fifty Shades of Gray for dad.
I’m sure your dad will love and knows Jim Croce I’m 20 and he’s one of my favorite artist
One to definetly react to would be Rick Ross feat The Weeknd - In Vein
Lol @ dad saying The Weeknd’s voice didn’t strike him as anything note worthy, but he was able to guess who it was in seconds. One of the most noteworthy male voices of our generation 🙏🏻✍🏻
Do rolling stone, Valerie, call out my name. Your dad will probably like those.
Theweeknd technically wrote most of Drake's album...Take Care
I wouldn’t say that 4 songs is “most” of Take Care…
@@VRoxityPromo I really meant most of the best rb songs
This always gets thrown around. He didn’t write most of the album just four or five songs were originally his or cowritten by him. Now what I will say is this, The Weeknd made his own sound and Drake definitely wanted that sound so I’d say The Weeknd definitely influenced Take Care. Also Drake has said before that Able had a sound that he liked and Able has said that he liked drakes sound and just made it darker, both have given each other credit but I still say the The Weeknd made a better sound.
@Grt1n ok bro, I'm just saying some of the best songs... that I liked, was from him and he never gave him credit and that's why he never signed to OVO🤷♂️
@@cincostarr88 I agree with you, The Ride, Crew Love, Shot for Me and so on are definitely some of the best on the album.
The Trilogy album was by far his best work! Echos of Silence might be a winner for Dad
Totally thought Pops was gonna play Chris Isaac for you from the name of the track...lol...btw your dad was completely right about the chorus, I'd even be willing to bet The Weeknd would admit he drew inspiration from Eminem's more melodic choruses, too.
You can try SACRIFICE by the wknd. Kind of has a Michael Jackson feel to it
Having been viewer of your channel for time now, i think your father will appreciate NF, you could do "When I Grow Up", "The Search" "Story" or "Clouds"
The Weeknd - XO/THE HOST
You should play him the song “In Vein”. Rick Ross feat. The Weeknd.
You should show him some recent weekend songs, like from the After Hours album
react to his Dirty Diana cover, your dad will love it
The Hills (feat. Eminem) Remix
An idea to eventually you show your dad.
Much love from Brazil!
platinum off a mixtape
