@Elma Lee I am considering this machine as well. A year ago, I considered the NX7 and I'm glad I held out because this one has so many features. How are you liking it after 3 months. What was your previous machine and how does the 4000 QVP compare?

I have a Janome Horizon MC 8200 QCP SE and I’m really looking hard at this particular machine. I also have a Juki HZL-F600 which I found, to me, was hard to quilt on. Not enough room making it harder to turn and bunch my quilt to sew so I had to upgrade to Janome.
This particular machine, with the touch screen and ease of use looks great. The feed dogs switching looks amazing and yes the narrow foot absolutely needs this switching ability. Nothing like trying to use a narrow foot with only one side of the feed dogs are used which is a big pain in the butt!

@@liaclaudia6521 I bought the new Juki DX-3500 and I already have a Janome Horizon MC 8200QCP SP. Just my opinion but I'm ready to sell my Janome. Juki blows my Janome out of the water. But to be fair, the Juki costs about twice the price of my Janome so I would expect it to do just that. I think what turned me was not having to put on the Acu-feed foot for feeding pieced quilting. Juki solved that with the feeding mechanism that you pull down to use. Having a screen where you can see the adjustments you need is very helpful. This means I don't have to spend a lot of time looking through my Janome manual for a setting. The Juki screen is very logical in how it's laid out in my opinion. And it's a quiet machine as compared to my Janome. The Janome I have takes 9mm Janome feet only. The Juki takes a 7mm foot. I really think 7mm feet do a better job on piecing. I have lots of 7mm feet because I also have a Juki HZL-F600 and have bought extra feet for it as well, but the Janome 9mm takes Janome only feet and they do cost. Technology is making sewing a whole lot better!

Can I drop the foot by hand, not automatically? How high can I lift the foot, will be able to fit thick brushed woolens 4 folded for example if I need topstitch jacket lapels?
Nice machine!!!! But when will JUKI will bring a Single Needle Embroidery machine to the US market? The Kokochi is perfect platform to bring it, like a Kokochi-E for embroidery, just like Janome did with the Janome Skyline S9, but even better, with a 16 x 10 embroidery hoop. JUKI has already some embroidery machines in the Japanese market. That will be SUPER!!!!!
That's one of the reasons I'm holding off on buying this machine. I was considering the NX7 a while back, but held off. Now I see this machine and the features remind me so much of the Bernina without the embroidery option. I'm wondering if it's best to hold off in case Juki does that. But when you have a dual purpose machine, what features will be negatively impacted.
@@Enig_Mata Well, being JUKI, I do not think any feature would suffer in terms of quality. What I think they will suffer would be in terms of richness of features, depending on the price. I have been getting tired of waiting for JUKI to do so, so I have been able to check some of the latest Combo machines from Bernina, PFAFF, Viking, BabyLock, Brother and Janome, and the one that appears to be the best suitable for me is the PFAFF offering- PFAFF Creative Icon 2. It has High End embroidery capabilities, it has a special Embellishment device that can add sequins, yarn, beads and ribbons as part of the embroidery, quilting or project you may have. It also has Artificial Intelligence that is not too much yet but is evolving, and perhaps the best WiFi offering for you to subscribe and use ANY brand of Sewing Machine as long as you pay for a subscription, but the site has more than 9 thousand different designs for just embroidery, and adding more every time!!!! The problem is the price of this machine- almost 20K!!!!!!! But I already have a Bernina B830 LE that is pretty good, and I am subscribed to the MySewNet site and getting pretty good and wonderful designs that I did not have before, and in the Bernina format!!!!! That at this moment would be more than enough for me. But for just sewing or quilting, I have my JUKI set of DX2000QVP, DX-7 and HZL-f300 machines, and they are SUPER!!!!!!!

Very impressive. I want to know how fast it goes and if you can cut the thread with the heel strike on the foot pedal?
You can definitely cut the thread using your heel. If you choose to disable that feature or use the heel to life the presser foot, you can. I have the 2000 QVP and it's a setting on the machine.

In Europe this machine may be known as the HZL-UX8. Essentially the same machine as the DX-4000QVP except the DX-4000QVP has a few more quilting feet included. The extra feet can be bought separately, if you get the HZL-UX8. It is only just now (December 2022) that the UX8 machine has become available in Australia. Until now there were only enough of UX8 / 4000QVP machines produced to satisfy the USA and European markets. Because of COVID-19 supply problems no doubt.
