I believe they were more than friends and things went downhill from midseason 2 and on. It is quite obvious that even the writers avoided to write them steamy scenes. And even when they were suppose to kiss it was always shot from a weird distant angle
I really don't real life ship couples but these two make it sooooo hard to not want to LOL Especially when you see moments like 4:34-4:41. The way he's looking at her....Ok, I need to stop. But seriously love that these two get along so well. And what a splendid job you did on this!
