I, personally, love his minimal gear, no tent, in the snow survival videos. Especially the ones that he had to get so much done before it gets dark out

In the last 2 years and in large part watching your (and others) channels I’ve built up my gear list, had two knee surgeries and am just returning from a 72 hour solo fall / winter trip enjoying remote Steelhead fishing, days in the rain and can’t remember being more happy.
Did my first winter hot tent camping earlier this year. Absolutely worth every penny you invest into it. Got a Kodiak Canvas cabin tent and a Kni-Co Alaskan stove and I stayed warm and dry for a week.
Same the only thing preve ting me is the prices knowing its a 4 plus hour drive to mountains from me, not sure how often it would get used but want one so bad

Especially for us disabled people. You make building bushcraft bed & shelter look easy. It's a lot of work. Especially in snow. Love your videos! Thanks for doing another winter hot tent video. This video took me back to my Westland, MI and Bremerhaven days. I miss the snow and seeing you guys in such a stunning setting made me that more homesick for it. It was almost 70 here in GA today. No winter for us. Thank you for sharing and I hope to see more like this soon!
Love it dude! Good video as always I enjoyed it. For the table though, I have a better option. It’s about that same size. It’s a roll up option. The top folds into a bag the same way a sleeping bag or sleeping pad does. It’s just a roll out system with a support system like you’d see on a folding chair. Super light weight. Fits in a bag. I actually use one on my patio and it’s held up my little grill year round for 2 years now, and I put one in my guest house as an end table. Elements don’t seem to do any damage to them. And when I don’t want them, they fold right back up into a little bag that fits in a backpack. On a sled or something I don’t think you’d even notice and they’ll hold up anything I think you’d use them for. Get back to me if you’re interested and I can find the exact model for you. It’s not even anything special, I found them on Amazon. Super cheap but a great system.
I love sleeping on my cot. Bought it for my dad for a camping trip we did before he died from bone cancer. Loved it so much but it was a cheap thing that died. But now I have a folding one that folds up like those umbrella chairs. Since I got my cat I got a six person tent. It’s tall and I keep a table and chair in the tent besides her litter box. It’s great to have such luxury. We used to have a toaster like that in the early 70s. We were a big camping family. My dad was such a bush craft guy before they called it that. He always knew what in the woods was edible and loved to backpack and camp with minimal gear. I’m a girl. I dont mind a few luxuries, like a cot and sleeping pad. But I never camped in the snow. Only hiked in it. But WA state is bone chilling cold in that small window between rain/ sleet and snow. On a cold day poutine sounds warming. Wood stoves are so toasty. We heated our house with it. Honestly my fav camping trips is just hanging out in camp by the fire and in the tent once it gets cold. Then bundle up in the down quilt.

@@Koffling I eat a carnivore diet, literally all I eat is beef and eggs. Beef organs supply you with all the necessary nutrients you need. Veggies caused me a lot of problems and I am much better for it now that I no longer eat them. Do some research!

Back in the mid 80s, when I was 6 to 8 years old, I lived upstate New York in the mountains. It was always amazing after a snowstorm the next day, when it was clear sky and sunny. Oh *my,* the sunlight glistening off the snow! Winter wonderland is definitely what I'd say it looked like. We were on a clearing with no forest around our house, so we could see for 30+ miles in some spots. I miss seeing that so much.
Nothing quite like a hot tent in a prolonged snowstorm! I love exploring in the cold, then returning to a warm camp! Hope to see a prolonged trip! Thanks Joe!

when i was a kid i lived on top of the rockies in new mexico. we had a beautiful snow storm come through. then it cleared up and froze over with a full moon over head. no nearby light pollution so you could read the bible without squinting out there. the whole valley was nothing but dancing sparkles and lights. it was probably one of the most amazing moments in my life. just wanted to share since you prolly seeing some nice sparklies :)

This looks better than a hotel with 5 stars, in a way it is a hotel but for people that know hot to appreciate it and all what it brings with it! The snow gives it a special look and ambient i won't lie, but i bet it was hell of a cold out there, that hot tent looks amazing!

Reminds me of why I'm not a big fan of winter. As magical as a desolated, snow filled forest can be.. I'd go bonkers in this cold season, just staying in the tent to eat and making firewood. Cheers and happy holidays
I can’t wait until the first full 2 weeks after New Years . I’m going to spent 4 days with some buddies of mine in a cabin that we built over 20 years ago . All five of use bring food , board games , a dartboard with darts , good drinks most of the creature comforts of home that you can have . We’ve been doing this since 2019 , had to skip 2020 but now we’re all vaccinate & can get back to some good times with all of the precautions in place . Then the second total full week my uncles , cousins & I go on one of my uncles land set up this huge tent with 2 big hot stoves & cots on padded floors & go hunt hogs at night & early morning , there’s like 15 or so of us so that will be fun can wait for all that bacon , pork chops , ham & everything that comes with hunting hogs . I need to stock my deep freeze . I trade off meat from my hogs that I don’t like to my uncles and cousins for meats I do like , yea I hustle meat , what of it , man it’s going to be a great start for 2022 , hopefully it’s a better year than the last 2 .
SNOW!! Joe, you show me snow. It was 80F two weeks ago! That's 30 degrees warmer than normal for Texas, but it felt blazing hot. We are so ready for cold weather. I enjoy everything you do.
I come from a little village in the pennines area of England where snow falls every year easily 3ft and we just get on with things. I moved to London with my job and in 2010, the last time it snowed 12 inches the suburbs ground to a hault, no busses or trains or trams, we also ran out of grit for the roads and no one moved for a week. I laughed 😅🤣😂. There were teenagers who had never experienced snow, they just were like little kids throwing snowballs and building snow shapes. Your videos always bring back memories for me, the only thing I never did was kayaking, I did do white water rafting in Snowden one year in snow, that was insanely awesome.

Reminds me of why I'm not a big fan of winter. As magical as a desolated, snow filled forest can be.. I'd go bonkers in this cold season, just staying in the tent to eat and making firewood.

I can’t wait until the first full 2 weeks after New Years . I’m going to spent 4 days with some buddies of mine in a cabin that we built over 20 years ago . All five of use bring food , board games , a dartboard with darts , good drinks most of the creature comforts of home that you can have . We’ve been doing this since 2019 , had to skip 2020 but now we’re all vaccinate & can get back to some good times with all of the precautions in place . Then the second total full week my uncles , cousins & I go on one of my uncles land set up this huge tent with 2 big hot stoves & cots on padded floors & go hunt hogs at night & early morning , there’s like 15 or so of us so that will be fun can wait for all that bacon , pork chops , ham & everything that comes with hunting hogs . I need to stock my deep freeze . I trade off meat from my hogs that I don’t like to my uncles and cousins for meats I do like , yea I hustle meat , what of it , man it’s going to be a great start for 2022 , hopefully it’s a better year than the last 2 .

SNOW!! Joe, you show me snow. It was 80F two weeks ago! That's 30 degrees warmer than normal for Texas, but it felt blazing hot. We are so ready for cold weather. I enjoy everything you do.

I come from a little village in the pennines area of England where snow falls every year easily 3ft and we just get on with things. I moved to London with my job and in 2010, the last time it snowed 12 inches the suburbs ground to a hault, no busses or trains or trams, we also ran out of grit for the roads and no one moved for a week. I laughed 😅🤣😂. There were teenagers who had never experienced snow, they just were like little kids throwing snowballs and building snow shapes. Your videos always bring back memories for me, the only thing I never did was kayaking, I did do white water rafting in Snowden one year in snow, that was insanely awesome.
