    I just bought a king sized flannel sheet set on clearance, I plan on using some of it for a design board and some for a quilt back, whole set for $15, thanks for the video, I already have canvases so this will make easy work. Thanks again.

      That's an awesome idea to use a flannel sheet and a lot cheaper than using batting.

    This is exactly what I made last year using a board that size, except I bought mine from a charity/thrift shop for £1 (2AUD). It had a lightish pattern printed on it but it didn't show through the batting - if it had I would have just painted it white. This year I'll be looking for an even bigger one to recover. Thanks for sharing your tips :)

    Thank you so much. I went around to different stores to get flannel and felt materials and this is all I need. And I had that.

    Very clear, easy to understand instructions. Love your board . It is so much easier and much more affordable than what I had in mind. Thank you so much. Have a blessed day.

      Thank you Maeola. We love it and we use it all the time. It means we can stand back and see how a project is going to look, rather than trying to take it all in when it is laid out on a table. And it was really cheap to make. Plus you can make them as big or as small as you wish, it simply depends on the size of your canvas.

      +Joanne Davison Thank you Joanne. I have to say I'm really happy with how these turned out. The smaller one is just ideal for placing quilt blocks on before they are assembled.

    I love this! Can I ask how you secure the larger design wall to your room wall?

    • @alandacraft

      We just screwed the screws into the brick wall (using the appropriate fixings from the hardware store). The design wall isn't very heavy.

    Did you use cotton batting?

    • @alandacraft

      Yes Christine, We use the Warm Company, Warm and Natural Cotton batting for most of our projects.

    I think I would use Foamcore or R-Max insulation board it's cheaper and larger

      Thank you for your tip Sue. We will certainly check that out. We are finding that we need a larger board for our quilts. We made this to use with our quilt blocks.

    How do you hang your board?

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a couple of screws set into the brickwork Elaine. You could probably prop the board up on a table or a chair, or even lay it flat on the table or floor, if you don't want to put screws in the wall.

      In this video we are using batting, and any batting should work, A flannel sheet will also work.
