      I like the dismissive way she responds to his question of her writing her own songs, and the subtle shade she throws his way later by talking about how interviewers can have a set agenda before the interview even begins and how she'd rather be down the street hanging out with her artist friends looking at comics.

    Oh, this was painful to watch. I don't think Rose "got" Tori, I don't think he was a fan or familiar with her work. And she is, admittedly not a conventional interviewee. I think her affect also threw him. She's very articulate in her own way but I think Rose was getting impatient with her.

    • @eccremocarpusscaber5159
      @eccremocarpusscaber5159 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tori is a terrible interviewee. She rambles and always seems to be saying the same thing with different and obtuse descriptors. Not so much now, thankfully. Her music speaks for itself beautifully and doesn’t need muddied by her less than eloquent interview style. Kate bush is a great example - she speaks plainly - and often not at all - as the music stand on its own and doesn’t need a constant framing back to her own personal ideology to let it shine.

    While I don't always agree with his politics, I very much admire him for the incredibly deep, searching questions he asks. I have a great deal of respect for him. Yes, he seems a bit aggressive at times here, but, let's face it, he's completely threatened by her and what she says! At least he has her on the show, and I LOVE the one-on-one, intimate aspect, as well. It's not your typical talk show crap. Try watching the show several times with other guests. It's the only way I get my news.

    He is a creepy old man and his intention is to make her feel ill at ease but she would never allow that,she has been through far too much and knows far too much about predatorial men to let them get one over on her.That was more like an inquisition than an interview and the making love to the piano thing was just yucky but she came back and said "of course,its 9ft long",there you go Mr Rose,now who feels inadequate?

    Why does the interviewer remind of everything that is wrong with this planet - a hunched over parasite, more dead than alive, feasting on the Sun that flows through the truly creative. Why do we need the media? What did they ever create? They've no light of their own so they feed off the light of others....and we let them

  • @danielnikolic
    @danielnikolic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    She basically improvises the answer about Bliss, instead of really answering it (and some others). Of course Bliss has nothing to do with Mary Magdalene, it's clearly basically about her and her father; Christian god doesn't (maybe) *bilocate*, he is *omnipresent*, everywhere at the same time.
    Of course she's right regarding Jesus - he most likely wouldn't be a Christian if he came to Earth today. He was essentially a Jewish fundamentalist.
    But the journalist is really asking tough questions. He could have been asking, hi Tori, great album, what are plans for the tour, how do you think people will accept your new songs, will we hear more piano songs in the future, more dance songs, etc
    And that implies the journalist think her work is serious stuff, not just some run of the mill. Which is essentially true.

      Jesus Christ wasn’t a Jewish fundamentalist. He was against the fundamentalists. He was actually a Gnostic. Tori is right. Jesus Christ would not be a Christian. Today’s Christians are actually following the teachings of Paul. Paul was the one that talked about hell, sin, damnation, fear. Jesus Christ preached about a loving Father and Mother God. Gnostics are seekers of truth and knowledge. Tori Amos is definitely a Gnostic. She’s a great fighter of equal rights and human rights. Just like Jesus Christ was. He was a rebel. He was against religion. The religion of his time was too patriarchal and against the feminine principle.

    I think she's so right about Jesus not being a Christian today. LOL. For reals!
    I also love the way she speaks of channeling music from somewhere else. I'm an author and I feel that way about my characters. That I"m hearing someone's story and writing it down. I have written poems and songs and not felt that way that I'm aware of so it's so cool music can be that way too with that form of channel.
